Benzos Zero xanax withdrawal?

Hey whats up guys, I've been prescribed xanax for almost 2 years. I get 3mg each day, but don't usually take it as i'm supposed to. Some days I will take nothing, some days I will take 6mg. The last 6 months I have been taking them probably about 5 days a week, at least 1mg or 2mg. Today is the third day in a row that I haven't taken xanax.

I don't feel anything bad really, maybe a slight feeling of depression? I'm not as hungry and I haven't slept as well. Other than that, I feel pretty fucking normal. From what I read online, eating this shit a few months in a row and then stopping is hard for some people. I can't find anything about people experiencing almost zero withdrawal. Is this possible?

I think it is important to add that I do NOT have social anxiety or any anxiety disorder at all. I am just a fan of benzos and lied to a random psych about symptoms for a prescription. This is extremely stupid, trust me I know.

Is it possible that the worst has not come yet? I have tons of weed and have been staying relaxed watching movies n shit, so that must help. But i really need some more opinions on this. Thanks in advance :)

To be honest, prescribing 3mg of Alprazolam over 2 years is pretty negligent. It's clearly not to be used long term, and there are other drugs out there that can be used instead, such as SSRI's/Pregabalin.

That said, I've taken Benzo's fairly long term and have never suffered withdrawal symptoms. So many people on BL over hype WD symptoms so much and it's kinda annoying, I think they brag about it to make themselves feel like an addict. However, unlike opiates, going cold turkey on Benzo's can be pretty dangerous and cause seizures so you should always be weary of this and taper off.

The worst I've ever experienced is a bit of rebound insomnia.

It could be that the withdrawals have yet to hit you, although Xanax withdrawal usually starts quicker than say Valium withdrawals when comparing benzos.

Having said that, when I got off of benzos the worst of the withdrawals was at the 2 week mark.

Is it possible that my body never became dependent on xanax? I would never take it a week straight without a few days break.. I probably never took them more than five days in a row.

One of the most important things I've learned about drugs is that everybody is different - no chemical affects the same two people exactly the same. Yes, it is completely possible that you never acquired a significant dependence on alprazolam, despite most evidence showing that you should have by now. Don't let that information get to your head.

I wanted to respond to you because I have a lot of experience with short acting benzos and benzo type drugs. Z drugs. Zolpidem, to be exact. I was taking a very large dose for quite some time until my Doctor just "disappeared" and wouldn't prescribe anymore. I have written an account of my experience which is funny and sad at the same time as an American living in Sweden and dealing with their healthcare system and shoddy drug clinics. I may put it up here for people like Rybee who don't realize that some of us do not respond well physically to the addiction of benzos or zdrugs. I don't know if the typical benzos are different, but I will say this; I was put on valium once I was able to get myself into a proper clinic and detoxed there, tapering the medication over a period of a few weeks. The acute withdrawal I experienced from the zdrugs was disturbing to say the least. The PAWS I suffered with afterwards were severe and I am still feeling the effects of that addiction. Fortunately, I didn't form any emotional or mental attachment to the drug, but my physical dependence more than made up for it. On the other hand, my mother has also been taking benzos for years and when she runs out doesn't feel a bit different. So, one's reaction to a lack of medication is individual and it can indeed be severe and disturbingly scary for some. I don't think you will have this problem, however. I believe you, like my mother, are one of the lucky ones. ;)

I think this statement is key, you took regular breaks. Plus you dont have an anxiety disorder. Pre-existing anxiety disorders can make benzo dependance a real trap, as these disorders are amplified by withdrawal.
You also said you dont feel hungry, arent sleeping well and have a little bit of a depressive mood...that is the symptoms of a very mild benzo withdrawal!lol

@Rybee, I like reading your posts because you know what your talking about and always include some useful info but I have to take issue with your statement that so many people on BL overhype their symptoms re:benzo withdrawal. Sure, a small % of oeople will talk up their symptoms to get sympathy or attention but the vast majority will be truthful and genuinely suffering.
Just because YOU dont get bad withdrawal symptoms doesnt mean others dont. Please, show a bit of empathy.
I personally think gaba-ergic withdrawal is much worse then opiate withdrawal, at least in opiate withdrawal you can take benzos to ease the symptoms but in benzo withdrawal opiates are little help (in my experience).
Even though I havent had a bad opiate WD I dont downplay the severity of others experiences, I take it at face value because as this is an anonymous online forum...what else can I do?.
