Can you get high off Zaleplon, I thinks it's the active ingredient in Sonata. A non-benzo sleeping aide. Would it just make me sleep or relaxed like benzos?

zaleplon is one of the "z-drugs", like ambien and lunesta. they are more selective at GABA-a receptors, they affect the hypnotic and amensia parts(the same ones that benzos do) but have little effect on the anti-anxiety and muscle relaxant parts. unlike benzos, z-drugs are only perscribed as hypnotics.
z-drugs are usually very short acting, have more unusual effects like hallucinations, bizarre behavior, and amnesia. they were made to have less abuse potiential than benzos, and they do to a certain extent.
some find z-drugs like zaleplon recreational, but most find benzos better because they are less selective at GABA receptors therefore benzos are more likely going to have better euphoric, relaxing, and anti-anxiety effects.

What are good drugs to combine with Sonata? benzos?

sonata can be great with benzos, if the benzo you have isn't one with strong hypnotic effects. nice with clonazepam and diazepam. the stronger, more hypnotic benzos like temazepam, rohypnol, and nitrazepam would likely cause a blackout with sonata. or knock you out fast. remember that combining sonata with any benzo will greatly enhance the hypnotic effects(and if you're not careful dangerous cns depression is possible), but if you don't over do it it can be a nice combo.
another good combo is opiates. like benzos sonata will enhance the euphoric and relaxing of opiates but be careful as this combo is like a opiate/benzo combo and can lead to dangerous cns depression and/or overdose, so start small if you try this.
DO NOT mix sonata with alcohol or barbiturates, this combo can easily lead to an overdose(esp. with barbs) or at least a dangerous blackout.
