Manos: The Hands of Fate. The stupidest, most incompetant film I have ever seen. The fact that Manos translates into english as hands(making this film Hands: the Hands of Fate) should give you a clue as to how bad it is....

I've seen both the DVD and the MST3K version. The MST3K version is fantastic. I can still hear Crow going "So in summary, Manos, the Hands of Fate"

Supposedly, Quentin Tarantino has a rare 35mm copy of the film.

i think you can say a lot of things about rushmore, but cliched? i'm intrigued to hear some analysis of how the characters are cliched. care to elaborate?

The characters are not necessarily cliched, the story was. It was just boy loves girl, girl doesn't love boy, and in the end the boy learns a life lesson and gets a girl more available. If you change the ages it should be a movie on the disney channel.

I assume the movie kind of relies on the "quirkiness" of the characters and the direction, but I just found all that annoying and not funny in the least.

it's not clear to me how such a reductionist view applies (or has any value*) in the case of art but, of course, you're entitled to your opinion.

poor uwe boll. i went to the world premiere of 'house of the dead' in san francisco and spent a few minutes outside afterwards talking to clint howard and uwe boll. i think they had their tongue in cheek when they made it...

It doesn't work as a tongue-in-cheek film. It doesn't work when trying be scary. It doesn't work as a film PERIOD. Clint Howard is great in it though, and Erica Durance shows us her Daily Planets while swimming, so I guess it's not a complete waste of time. Now Alone in the Dark, that movie is so horrible, I wish MST3K was still around. Tara Reid as a brainy archaeologist? W...T...F?
 
Lords of the Barrio cheaply made, pointless plot, BORING

The DaVinci Code boring boring boring. AND totally predictable. The scenery was nice though
