Two of my favorites from Joan Didion:

The willingness to accept responsibility for one's own life is the source from which self-respect springs.

We forget all too soon the things we thought we could never forget.

and from David Foster Wallace

The interesting thing is why we're so desperate for this anesthetic against loneliness.

from menace 2 society:

'I pay your monkey ass when i feel like it, motherfucker. suck my dick.'

a little 'immature' maybe but still cool :p

"pain is inevitable, suffering is optional." <----good one for the dark side, i dunno who said it tho.

The suffering one, I know in the special features for Requiem for a Dream with the interview for Hubert Shelby, Jr. he basically says that. He also says things like "I believe it is impossible for like to present you with a problem without already have giving you the answer."

Check it out, and it's a good movie if you've never seen it.

qui sait tout souffrir, peut tout oser (who can suffer everything, can risk everything)

BE WHO YOU ARE AND DO WHAT YOU LIKE - THOSE WHO MIND DON'T MATTER AND THOSE WHO MATTER DON'T MIND <-- Used to be a particular favourite of mine, though nowadays it isn't anywhere near buddhist enough for me anymore, i.e. it lacks the compassion dimension.
