young and skinny, NEED TO GAIN WEIGHT

Just to add my 2 cents. Dependant on your goal (do you aim to put on weight, and weight train to gain muscle?). Try not to take in massive amounts of saturated fats. Its easier to just pile in loads of greasy food, but at the end of the day, its not great to have inside you, and will make you look fat, not well built. Also, if you do plan on bulking up and then working out, the fat deposits gained from saturated fat are harder to get rid of.

You also probably have a fast metabolism. I am just going on an assumption here, but maybe switching to three large meals a day, opposed to 5 medium ones will slow the metabolism down a little, meaning you retain more of the fat.

Nuts are great- they're moreish and will help you add loads of extra good fat and cals to your diet.

Eat a big breakfast. The bigger and earlier the more you'll find yourself craving throughout the day.

Man up- bulking can be hard- I've eaten till I was sick more than a couple of times....

ok, today so far, 2 meals deep

breakfast, 2 eggs, 2 slices ham, 2 pieces of wheat toast, glass or orange juice

throw out the ham and add at least four more eggs. When I first started eating a lot, I couldn't stand eggs, and would get full off 3. You just have to keep eatin the bastards and you'll get to where you can stuff'em down. The thought of eating 10 egg whites used to make me gag. Now it's no problem.

Forget about supplements until you learn how to eat; minus your protein and maybe amino acids. You have to train yourself how to eat just like you do in the actual gym. I hear sooo many people who claim to eat lot(like my little brother who's 5'10 and 150 lbs) and say they still can't gain weight. Well, I was around him recently when he was home on leave, and he didn't eat worth shit.

Get at least 5 meals/day from solid, high protein and carb meals. Keep track of your calories especially once you believe you're eating a lot, and still not making gains. Numbers don't lie.

lunch: 2 pieces of grilled chicken, 1 cup of baked beans, 1 cup of coleslaw, 1 oz ghouda cheese, water

typical diet a little under 2000 calories

...not working, jiust maintaining me at 147-150 lbs.

Shit, mang...this is the kind of shit folks eat while cutting.

If you wanna get big, you need to hit up the three basic food groups: McDonald's, KFC, and Burger King.

And eat a heaping handful of Crisco with every meal (unless you're a health nut, in which case you can substitute shots of olive oil).

Eat more carbs such as bread, pasta
Eat Red meat
Lots of Soda or Beer(sugar)
I know salt helps you retain water
Eat fast food more than you should
Smoke weed to get more hungry; helps if you do not have a appetite

Don't listen to this if unless you want to gain fat instead of muscle. Terrible advice. Empty calories are not a great source of nutrition for someone wanting to gain muscle. 8)

People think you simply have to eat more calories than you consume to gain muscle when working out but it's not as simple as that! Eat healthily, but more. There are energy dense foods that have a relatively low GI and a low II which will help you gain muscle, but don't resort to eating junk food. That's just silly.

I don't ever come into this forum and have no knowledge on the subject. I can tell you that I'm even thinner than you though! At my peak I weighed 145 lbs at 6'2. I started using poppy tea 2 years ago and didn't notice a change in weight until near the end of my addiction, I had managed to drop down to about 130 lbs from not eating enough while abusing PPT.

I quit 42 days ago and much to my concern I continued to lose weight, just a few days ago I weighed 128. For the past week or so I've been making it a point to try not to skip meals and eat more. I have been eating like all day for the past couple of days and was relieved to see that when I stepped onto the scale today I was up to around 132 - 133. I'm kind of relieved though, it's pretty disconcerting to shed 15 lbs when you didn't really have all that much weight to spare from the beginning.

Buy a blender, use it, love it. Shakes will have a boatload of calories, are fairly clean, and don't "fill you up" the same way other meals will. Get some vanilla and some chocolate whey and you're set.

Try:
-organic peanut butter, bananas, chocolate milk, ice, chocolate whey
-various fruits you enjoy, skim milk, vanilla whey, ice, honey

They're amazingly delicious and calorie dense. Your problem is getting in enough clean calories - shakes are a perfect approach. A high quality blender will likely be on sale since they're going to start clearing out summer stock soon.

i am in a similar situation, or at least i was

i was always the lanky kid, i hated being thin
duirng my final high school year i was on 40mg of adderall a day
i was about 6'1, and 135 pounds

even if i ate a fuck load i wouldn't gain wait

i graduated high school started working full time , went off the adderal,
i worked a canadian coffee joint that serves bagels, i would eat 4 bagels clarted with cream cheese, contstant mcdonalds and other shit

i was slowly gaining weight, then i turned 19, stoped working and started excessive drinking

now i am 185 pounds, with a beer belly and i am ready to turn that into muscle

Persist. That's my one word of advice. Keep eating more, increase the length and intensity of your workout, and don't expect results right away. I just wake up and do pushups now instead of smoking pot. been at it for maybe a year..Starting to notice some actual physical changes in my muscles. Im 6'4'' 170, with a metabolism that allows me to lose weight even when im on the couch hitting the bong, eating cheeseburgers and pizza.

I've gained about 20 to 25 pounds of muscle over two years. Its hard work, but I was not the ectomorph I thought I was.

Eat eat eat, but do it in smaller portions more often. However if you cannot do it then eat big once or twice a day. Look into protein shakes and or weight gainers. Do compound lifts. Creatine is fine IMO and also a good multi vitamin (which reminds me I need to go pick one up).

The one really good thing is it was very easy for me to do a mild "cut" for the summer. I dropped some bf very quickly without losing muscle.

I know I need to take more calories in and up the amount of food i eat, but a supplement is going to be key as 2000 calories barley holds me right now and I was thinking about taking creatine as well, what do you guys think about that?

Thanks,

I appreciate your input

Well you answered your questions.

You should literally double your calorie intake (as long as theyre clean) and give the gym a try ;)
