Wow, I want to go to your county jail..

They don't give you SHIT for heroin withdrawal here. They tell you that you're SOL & that you're on your own.
 
Yeah I've been in other counties and went in ON a clinic for years and was forced to withdraw cold turkey

This county will dose you. I got lucky tho, you're supposed to already be on the clinic. But I had an infection in my finger and had to go to the hospital before the jail would take me. I was honest at the hospital with the doctor(told him I was in withdrawal) so they started me on methadone. So then a week later when I got to the jail they kept me on it...

Otherwise the county will just detox u with codeine n catapres (I think) and sometimes lithium or whatever

I get to be on methadone the whole time I'm here ? Cool...
The first morning I was in jail they actually took me out to the clinic. Kinda embarrassing in shackles. But as I was getting a good result I just sucked it up lol. The counselor even comes out n does your counseling there!

Love the progress ...
 
If I remember correctly, either Cleveland city jail or Cuyahoga county jail in Ohio would give junkies methadone.

La womens county jail will dose you only if you were already in a clinic and you have to pay the delivery fee from the pharmacy each day. It ends up being very expensive. But worth it in my opinion. Jail aint no thang if im not sick.

The womens jail in alaska will tell you tough shit drink more water. Thankfully the jail there was more lax and we could shower whenever we wanted which helps A LOT.

Most places in the US will at least give you a shitty detox protocol, but only if you're already on maIntenance.

What would actually benefit society would be to get everyone on maintenance when they go in, and for methadone it wouldn't even cost that much. It's the whole idea that these ignorant assholes in charge have that "maintenance gets you high!"
 
No offense, but every time I read the title of this thread, it makes cringe..."Oops, I nodded with the needle still in"....That's not some quirky thing that happens to everyone...If the shot hits you so hard that you don't pull the syringe out of your arm....That's not usually a good sign...ask PSH

Sorry Seyer, I know its probably happened to a lot of people that haven't died, but I always associate it with ODing, which come to think of it, might be entirely appropriate for this thread!
 
^That happened to me only once. It was followed by a knock on my driver's side window.

It's obviously a joke. If it was a personal attack or mockery things would be different, but it's not. So I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you're just going to have to live with it. ;) The title you suggested as being similar is a bit different, in my opinion. Wouldn't you agree?
