You look so beautiful tonight. Do you even realise? Can anyone else see the magic you create? Why doesn't everyone else fall at your feet?
I watch you stamp, shuffle and twist to the music, feet sliding across a sweat slicked floor. The beat that drowns out sound is replaced in my mind with a silence. A silence that allows me to hear your breathing, heavy and deep. A silence that lets me hear the feet that carry you the places you go. A silence in which i hear that single bead of sweat slide down your forehead and off the tip of your nose. It's a part of you and i resist the urge to catch it.
You catch my eye and beckon for me to join you on your journey but i just shake my head and motion for you to keep dancing. I always did love to watch you. You grin and wink and your teeth shine bright against the smile i would die a thousand times to see.
But you won't take no for an answer and you come to me with arms open wide. Your arms possessing a warmth that only love can feel. For a moment i am as beautiful as you.
I hear you say the words people live all their lives not hearing. 'I love you.' And I look at you and know you mean it. I can feel that you do.
Then the song ends and the silence is gone and i know that all too soon our feelings will change. That circumstance, experience and the ravaging effects of time will break us apart but in this moment i do not care.
I never expected a forever. I was grateful for the moments.
So thank you Micheal Pickford. Thank you.
You look so beautiful tonight. Do you even realise?

hmm...you know when you try and capture something on paper and at the time, you think you haven't been able to do it. Well i wrote this a while ago and discarded it because i didn't think it said what i was trying to say. Now i look back i think it had a bit of something, a glimpse of a feeling that can't be translated into words.
