You know what is pissing me off.. Vit c/5-HTP

W/e dude.. no one can roll of 10mg i mean if you take 2 bombs and are rolling bawls and think OH shit when will this end i promise you.. YOU WILL come down faster ive had my own exp. with it! I was rolling face at a rAve and like a few hours in I get this weird feeling of boredom. like I've already done everything that can be done there. I just thougt about how awesome i felt and how good the music was I got right back into the roll
 
Taking 5-HTP with MDMA has never been reported to cause a single incident of Serotonin Syndrome, and I can't imagine why it would. 5-HTP causes a small boost in serotonin levels in the brain (much of it is converted to serotonin too early in the stomach, and serotonin can't cross the BBB, but some of the 5-HTP does and converts on the other side), not nearly enough to cause SS issues, and it doesn't have any effect on the metabolization or oxidation of serotonin or MDMA. Maybe if you took many, many doses of it, but plenty of people take it with or during their rolls and not one of them has been known to have Serotonin Syndrome result from that combination. How effective 5-HTP is at boosting a roll seems to vary a lot from person to person. Pre-loading in the days leading up seems to have a positive effect for me, but it's hard to say really.

I've never tried dosing a significant amount of 5-HTP while rolling because of reports that it can mute the effects by triggering receptor downregulation somehow, although on a recent roll I emptied a 5-htp cap since I didn't have any empty gelcaps handy and wanted to cap up my molly dose. At least a few milligrams of 5-htp was stuck to the inside of the cap, but it didn't have any muting effect at that tiny dose at least - I rolled face that dose :) I suspect the primary real use for 5-htp, if any, is post-loading to speed up the rate of replenishing serotonin levels, but it's not really very effective since there's an enzyme in the gut that converts much of it to serotonin before it can cross the BBB.

Vitamin C doesn't potentiate it (although maybe indirectly you'll feel a bit better/healthier after a nice big vitamin C dose, which certainly wouldn't hurt your roll), but it does probably reduce the neurological damage MDMA is theorised to cause based on oxidized dopamine damaging 5HT receptors. Vit-C is probably the best candidate for a healthy, safe, cheap and easy to acquire anti-oxidant that, in at least one form your body produces out of it, crosses the BBB and has been shown to block nearly all neurological damage caused by MDMA in rats. I always take vitamin c with my rolls when I can - no reason not to, your body can safely process a near infinite dose of the stuff and it's good for you anyway. I like to take those Emergen-C packets - they taste decent enough, just a mild citrusy fizzy taste in some water, and they have not only C but various B vitamins, other anti-oxidants and electrolytes - all things it doesn't hurt to load up on before and during a good roll!
 
you know what grinds my gears...i havent bought the damned rolls ive been meaning to buy for the last week. I shall attempt to OMNOM vit. c whilst rollin, though/
 
ANYBODY else feel that 1 emergen-c packet 35 minutes before rolling kills euphoria but gives you straighter thoughts?

Next weekend(if I have thizz time), I will take the same pills as last time(with vit. c then), w/o vitamin C till an hour into my peak, and see what the differences are. Also I'll get some 5-HTP for afterwards(just recently learned it's easier to get than I thought).

I'll say it again, I think pre-loading vitamin c lowers roll quality(parts of it).
 
^yep, and I wonder how much it really helps your brain! I'll probably start taking my(used to be pre-load vitamins) when I think my peak is ending. They'll take a bit to kick in anyways and I figure there's a good chance it will help something. oh and WA power! fuck i miss our good pill days
 
^hah did you get some or just read my report? actually not sure how they're here, it's unusual and there seems to be no talk of them(by people around me anyways, I was surprised the seller had them).
mda may be unleashed in large amounts soon. maybe(hopefully!)
 
heh although vitamin c does and has been proven to reduce neurological damage as a result of taking mdma that doesn't mean it's 'stopping it'. I think this vitamin c phenomenon is actually causing more damage to some (e-tards). Oh if i take vitamin C then i'm not really getting damaged by the mdma... WRONG. You are still fucking up your brain each time you dose and the reduction in damage is minimal. I hope people are taking supplements with their rolls but honestly i think some of the more dumb bl'ers are rolling more often because they have the magic vitamin c protection.

i like to preload 4 or 5 days befor i roll, i take 1 multi vitamin, 200I.U. vitamin E, and 100mg 5-htp daily..and if possible eat healthier and drink something packed with antioxidants (Odwalla mo betta) i figure the more antioxidants available the less chance of oxidizing dmg.. rolling takes a toll on your immune system imo. the more health you are the faster your body recovers from rolling.

but as for vitamin C during my roll. i like to drink orange juice while im rolling, it helps my stomach out and taste good..i figure only a little of the vitamin C im getting from the oj is making it to my brain. Vitamin C is water soluble meaning your more likely to sweat and piss it out befor it gets to work in your brain (correct me if im wrong). other wise i dont take any Vitamin C supplyment befor or during my roll beside my orange juice.

this past weekend i tried taking 5htp during my roll. i took 1 yellow star pokeball..about 130hrs in i took 100mg of 5htp and proceeded to take another 100mg a hr later and another 100mg before i went off to sleep. i cant say i noticed a definite difference because i need to try it a few more times befor i can compare it.. but if i had to give you a answer now i would say yes its plausible because after a hr or 2 i took them i felt like they were waves almost as if i was coming up again. music and postion (standing, siting ect) are also variables to this because certain songs can kick my ass and send me back to heaven. the question is how long does it take for 5htp to convert to serotonin in your brain? i heard it metabolizes quickly around a hr or two after consumption but thats in your abdomen.
