Yohimbine hydrochloride

I recently came across an old bottle of yohimbine hydrochloride in my lab. It is laboratory grade (from Sigma), and its listed as toxic (complete with the skull and crossbones). Is this the same compound as found in the plant extract (I think the plant's name is Yohimbe)? Is it safe to try? What's a normal dose?
 
5mg-7mg as needed... I believe its primary use is a sexual stimulant, don't know if it has a lot of recreational benifit..

mr quirrel: its potent stuff and a stong maoi. i wouldnt do this stuff without doing your research. i've heard its as potent as viagra! if you dont know already, make sure you find out about maois (monoamine oxidase inhibitors)... (e.g. with regard to avoiding certain foods so as not to get ill and die)

Shit, I don't know whats in any of the herbal crap, I never gave any of that stuff a second glance - but yes, if you die your parents can try and sue me, they wouldn't be the first people to have lost a loved on because someone took my advice as being 100% correct without so much as doing any of their own research..
I believe it's used specifically for impotent men, and is actually supposed to be rather effective.. don't think it would be fatal, but it could be - who knows..

To answer your question, yes it is the same yohimbine that is in the herbal drinks, one of my favorite drinks is the "SoBe Energy" .It only has a few mg of that stuff but becarful cause in high doses it becomes a depressent and a neurotoxin. Damn! its hard 2 believe that weed is illeagal and yohimbine isnt.
