i know this will work, for this actually happened with a family member of mine, who's house i happen to be crashing at for the weekend, with full access to her meds. :O
anyway, here's the deal. next time you visit your dentist, and you have some drilling done, teeth pulled, or you have to have one of those horrid root-canal jobs, this is your mission in life: call and complain of pain of course, and if you got meds in the first place say that they are not working. the next day call your dentist and tell him/her that it feels like someone is stabbing your jawbone with an ice pick, yet the novacaine in your cheek area never wore off. so, you go back. he'll poke and prod, you'll scream and yell; he'll ask about your cheek ... tell him you feel nothing. and be sure to slur your speech a little.
something my family member had done caused her severe nerve damage, so her face numbs from time to time, and she gets this horrible stabbing pain that has her in bed for days on end.
so kids, fake some nerve damage. it seems basically fool proof. but as my family member is not into rec. drugs, she only has two bottles of 100mg Darvocet(15each) and one bottle of Percocet (30). now, imagine the possiblities of a little acting?
and she will get these meds long term, so hopefully some of you pharmie kids will as well. happy hunting.

but it does sound like a good and easy plan. I think i'm up for it next time i go to the dentist. Just gotta sharpen up my acting skills in meantime

Don't jump on the bandwagon just yet. While it's unfortunate what happened to your family member, her case is somewhat rare. In my own practice I've had one case such as this in four years. My colleagues report similar numbers. Certain procedures will have a higher risks, some none. Not knowing this you could end up looking like a real jackass.
