Xanax -- Semi-Experienced -- What happened ?

Just a quick report here of taking a whole 2mg alprazolam with no current benzo tolerance. I had taklen lower strength (cannot recall the mg, probably 0.5mg) on a few occaisons just to mix with alcohol or goto sleep with some weed, but this time was weird, as I only ever had the xanax's incrementily before.

+T0:00: I had just had a schooner (425ml) of Tooheys New and that was all I had drunk all day. However I had been smoking some nice indica. I had recently acquired some xanax 2mg bars so I decided to pop one in hope of getting home and having a few bongs and chilling out with some music and reading or something.

+T0:15: I start to feel the benzo kicking in, but with no real push towards tiredness. Things were kinda just flowing out of me, I don't remember what I said to this good looking Subway chick, but somehow I managed to get a free foot long, and the comment "are you sure you can handle it all?".

+T0:30: After talking to some friends I met in Subway for a bit, I got driven home.

+T0:50: I would of well been home by now, but I cannot re-call anything that happened after this at all.

I do not re-call any of the experience after this.


The next day I woke up and my sub had been eaten, and I was told I did eat it later on. I checked my pot and none had been smoked. None has been chopped up before that, and no bud was missing :) Really, what the fuck happened? Friends say I rang them, and some rang me but I have no re-call of this and apparently it was brief anyway.

Anyway I was out till 8:45am in the morning, and I was asleep well before my parents apparently, and they went to bed at 9:00pm.


I really don't get why I cannot remember a couple missing hours, and crashed out so long off just one 2mg xanax bar. I have taken 40-60 of valium, and only passed out after drinking a six pack, and lots of weed (And stumbling around some tree and tripping over apparently). And I've actually taken upto 120mg of oxazepam and lasted about 4-5 hours af heavy drinking without passing out. I did somehow get in a fight I didn't want to be in with some skinhead, and got thrown out of a local football club, but I only passed out after doing some hill-walking and smoking some cones.. I passed out within 20 minutes of that into a deep sleep.

Does anyone else find xanax much stronger than valiums and such and does anyone know how the mg of xanax compare to valium, and oxapezam, despite their half-lives and such, just en estimate ?
 
^^ Not sure, but I should know soon, if my order of Xanax ever gets here.

Ah, a schooner of Toohey's New. Probably one of my favorite memories from two months backpacking around Oz a few years ago. :) I can't wait to go back. That's a fine beer (and a fine country!)

Well, why you passed out on a dose which you had surpassed on other occasions without passing out may foreever remain unkown. However, having no recolection of events isn't really that uncommon on benzos. I've only used benzos a few times and always taken enough to eventually pass and and find out stuff the next day that i never remembered happening. ALso I'e seen friends do stuff on benzos they dont remember the next day. The way i figure, its just like dreaming, i mean, you could have 100 dreams at night, and not remember 1 of them, or even if you do, chances are it will be quite a foggy memory that you can't really piece together properly. I suppose benzos just put your brain in that sleep mode, especially with an alcoholic beverage to go with them. Its also kinda like when your fast asleep and some wakes you up to talk/do something for like 2min then you go straight back to deep sleep and the next day you can't remember it at all but the person swears it happened.

Hahahaha! You bloody tripper, you crack me up, I can't wait to trip with you and break your brain =D

On a side note, do you think your previous use of psychedelics in the last few months would have attributed to this memory loss, as opposed to instantly pinning the blame on the Xanax? I can't think of why you'd zone out like that, but hey, at least you came around afterwards to some semblance of normality ;)
 
^^ I know it's a different drug, but I seem to recall some pretty serious memory gaps during my teenage Valium abusing period. I was doing a lot of pot too, which probably helped (or hurt, depending on your point of view.)

I believe clinical prescriptions of alprazolam (xanax) are in the 1-2mg range, while those for diazepam (valium) are 5-10mg. Or is that not your question?
 
I'd compare 1mg of xanax to 10mg valium. Sometimes it varies, depends on stomach contents and the stars.
 
Splatt, been there, done that, don't think I'll touch those again. I hear that, while benzos are more or less the same in effects, some benzos smack you in the face like a hammer, with their effects, and some are a gradual sorta thing..

I tried taking a 0.5mg dose of xanax just to mix with alcohol a couple nights ago, and I hate the drug. Long story, not gonna get into it here but I was an asshole.m But yeah at lerast I didn't just pass out this time and forget wtf happened.

Weellll, they actually come in .25, .5. 1 and 2. I just took a handful of the .25mg's because they are all I have access too. I hear they are pretty rare though.

when i used to have to benzo tolerance, 2mg or more of Xanax would do the exact same thing to me... allthough now that i'm much more experienced with benzo's of all sorts, all munching on xanax bars does for me is make me more talkative and help school go by alot faster.. I use it for social anxiety too sometimes
 
Why cant people get in their heads NOT to mix benzos with alcohol? Maximum 1-2 33cl beers... have a meal before so they dont hit you so hard...
