(xanax)- getting prescribtion?

How can you get xanax from doc for anxiety disorder that you don't really have?
Do they run some kind of test, what kind of dosage do they start you off on (I hope it aint the .25mg whites) could you just perform an act, whats-up, need good intelligent replies, thanks

There are no definitive clinical signs for
generalized anxiety disorder. The criteria
for diagnosing it are available here:
http://www.effexor.com/professional/anxiety/criteria.htm
In other words, the diagnosis is just
based on what you tell the doc.
However, a good psychiatrist will
not hand it to you if you walk in once
and say you've been really worried lately.
Also bear in mind that one of the main
things the doctor will want to rule out
before diagnosing GAD is drug dependence.

Forget a solo script to Xanax - ain't gunna happen... Xanax is regarded as the "most addictive" and "most abused" of the benzos, so as I said, forget a script for Xanax by itself, as most any condition that would warrant a short acting benzo can be "cured" with a long term SSRI - but, many of todays TAD's, SSRI's, and SDRI's will cause a fair amount of ACUTE ANXIETY as one of those "undocumented side effects"...
HERE is how I have secured myself the manty benzo scripts I have...
First, request you "go back on" your "previous" tregemine of meds that worked - Wellbutrin, 200mg twice a day, and Xanax - maybe .5 three times a day or as needed... still, you might be better with something longer acting such as Klonopin -

i've been prescribed 150mg of wellbutrin 2 times daily and .5mg of klonopin 3 times daily, .5mg of klonopin doesn't kill my legit anxiety anymore, how would i go about telling my doctor this so i can get a higher dosage?

Simply tell him that the Klonopin is the rigth medicine, but you have simply come to a point where you're not getting adequate relief from the anxiety that comes with the Wellbutrin - tollerance to benzodiazepines is VERY COMMON, so as long as you don't go to see yer doctor reeking of marijuana with your "HIGH-way 420" shirt, you should be able to get a 4th dose or so..

it is MUCH easier to get a script for anything good if you go to a psychitrist instead of a regular doc. They think everyone should be medicated and has problems where a family doc is the oposite.

damn, according to a few close buddies, getting s script for XANAX is relatively EASY..guess it all depends which doc u see...

Well bry, you close buddies are wrong... we are not talking about croakers, we are talking about your NORMAL DOCTORS, and your NORMAL DOCTORS are not to quick to scribble a Xanax script ...
As for a psychitrist vs your regular doctor, yes, it's generally easier to score with someone that specializes in psychiatric medicine, but it might take a little longer..

i cant get a script for benzos and i HAVE a bad anxiety disorder,i think the most i have ever gottin was 22 KLONOPINS.5mgs ,i dont know what to say ,he is just like NO MORE KLONOPIN unless ya have to do a paper in front of your whole college class or somthin,sucky shit i tell ya

I don't know about the US but in Canada it's pretty easy to get shit like xanax. I'm gonna try some today since my friend doesn't even take them... she's got the .25mg and the .5mg prescribed for depression? She's also got some effexorXR and she's only 17
