Would a pH of ~9 always preciptiate morphine in water?

Sorry if this is against the rules, it seems like gray area to me. Y do hard work (yet simple) to extract morphine when u can just make sum pod tea and then adjust the pH to 9.1 to preciptiate the morphine from the water n then just filter out the morhine and save everthing on the filter. Probqbly woupdnt be 100% morphine but itd be much better than raw or ur standard CFO. Does this soumd right.?

I'm not sure what you're asking here. Extracting morphine from pod tea and from opium are essentially similar processes, and in either case, you're not going to end up with relatively pure morphine with just a single pass.

Precipitating a substance (in this case) is adjusting the pH to a point where its no longer water soluble (in the current aqueous solution) and forms crystals at the bottom of the water. The morphine would be in the filter as a solid not in the liquid solution anymore. I think it would be purer. I know how to extract PURE morphine n I can do it easily but I prefer some other alkaloids with it.

Its NESSACARY to preciptiate when using bases like sodium hydroxide its the only way I know to separate it from a substance. Each substance has a different pH level it precipitates at.
