I am prescribed 70 mg vyvanse a day, and I workout every single day (mostly lifting, but at least 4 days of cardio.) I seem to be making pretty good gains, but I have heard that amphetamines are extremely catabolic. However, the vyvanse doesn't kill my appetite so I still eat alot of protein and good meals and take supplements. How bad is the vyvanse decreasing my muscle? Should I work out in the morning before I take it? Thanks for your help

This is more of a guess but if its not killing your appetite and you are working out i doubt its decreasing your muscle mass
I used to be on vyvanse and i am a girl so i was never trying to get big or anything but when i worked out it taking vyvanse didnt stop me from getting stronger

^^thank you that actually is very helpful. IT's just when I look it up on other sites or ask my bodybuilding friends they are all like "no dude it's destroying your muscle no matter how much you eat, rest, etc..."

destruction of muscle tissue would lead to muscle atrophy... correct?
if this were true then people who take vyvanse/adderol would look extremely unhealthy
but in my experience if you live a healthy lifestyle... eat well/excercise/sleep/dont otherwise needlessly abuse the body... then people on these meds look completely healthy

as long as you're eating you should be fine. catabolism comes into play when your body depleted its resources and resorts to muscle tissue as fuel. get your daily macronutrients and sufficient calories and you'll be alright. I'm assuming your dose doesn't cause rapid heart rate so that issue shouldn't be too bad. I don't recall if amps are considered cardio toxic so if someone could comment on that, then I think all bases will be covered (I'm pretty sure they are not cardio toxic I just know other stimulants can be/are)

Serotonin, pretty sure none of the pharm amps are cardiotoxic however that doesn't mean working out is completely safe. To the op, as long as you don't notice your heart rate significantly increasing there shouldn't be any worries as far as cardiotoxicity goes. That being said I've been on ritalin(very different from vyvanse i know but same family) for a while and prefer to work out in the morning before I take it but that's just me, my heart seems to be fairly sensitive to stims. As far as catabolism goes the other posters are correct as long as you're eating normally you should have nothing to worry about, even if your gains drop I wouldn't worry too much, all stims are diuretics so the first sign of weight loss is most likely water loss so make sure you keep your water intake up and you should be fine.
