Here is the all-important voting round for the poetry contest! We have two entrants this round, so choose carefully. The authors will be revealed after the two-week voting period is over.
So without Further ado:
Poem 1:
Boots and Pants
As a child I used to dream
of doing grand things,
The center of attention
Shimmering hope
Dancing stars
Helped me cope
Helped see me through.
This stage of life
Each of us with
Rolls, play, can become ecstatic!
But in motivation, expectations and intentions
Are not necessarily one in the same.
I need love.
I want this feel.
This is what I really need,
Tender quality.
Putting one foot after the other
Requires effort
Strenuous effort
But it is in the movement that really counts
The means to the ends
Can’t they they too become ends in themselves?
Now when I dream,
I dream of dancing.
Poem 2:
Hope Haiku
Shelf of few regrets
winter garden hibernates
hope in spring blossoms
