I injected a small shot of H a few hours ago and now my hand kills. As it was going in, I didnt feel any pain but after about 10 mintues my wrist started really hurting. It feels a lot like I sprained the wrist, a dull pain that is worst when I bend my wrist upwards. I think I may have hit a nerve but I would imagine that it would be more of a sharp pain then this dull pain. Has anyone ever hit a nerve in the wrist area and what did it feel like? I figure it will go away eventually but I'm always worried about permanent damage. I have a doctors appointment with an addiction doctor tomorrow so I will also ask him. But I figure whatever he tells me will not be from personal experience so I thought I'd ask you guys.

Thanks,
Rofl

We really can't tell you I am afraid - a doctor will be able to examine your hand for nerve damage, but over the internet it's impossible for us to say.. nerve pain can be dull rather than sharp, classically it is a burning sensation but people can experience it differently.. all I can suggest is speak to your addiction doctor - even though it is not their area of expertise, they should be able to advise you on who to speak to or what to do next.

Good luck!

I've done the same thing from injecting. The pain/numbness didn't last long though, fortunately. I also did some REAL nerve damage (I smashed my hand HARD while moving a very heavy object) to my right hand, and had to go to a hand specialist. Real nerve damage takes a LOOONG time to heal, because there's really nothing they can do to speed the healing. You just have to wait it out. I had extreme weakness in my right hand for months, and numbness in 2 fingers for many months after I started regaining strength in my hand. Always use great care when injecting .

Spoke to the DR today and he said its likely that I just blew a vein and it caused some bleeding into my wrist which is packed full of veins and tendons. This caused swelling which puts added pressure on he joints in the wrist. Probably nothing serious. Its basically th same thing as a bruise. However, its possible it could become infected so to keep an eye out for more swelling, worsening pain and/or redness. Thanks everyone for all your information and I hope the info I just posted helps out anyone in the same situation.

That sounds like a reasonable assessment by your doctor. Consider yourself lucky that you have a doctor you can be so honest with .

Yeah hes a pretty cool doc. Although hes not my family doctor, hes an addiction doctor I recently started seeing to try and get some help with my opiate use.

BTW, its been about 2 days since I missed the shot which caused the pain in my wrist( I did it on sunday). My wrist in probly about 80% back to normal now so everything seems to be ok. Thanks again everyone for all your helpful posts.

Glad to hear you're doing better, OP.

Since this is question has been answered, I'm going to close this thread now. PM me with any questions.

Be careful, man.
