I have an appointment for therapy and to start suboxone on the 4th. Which I'm really excited and ready for. But I'm going through withdrawls now. I'm miserable. Completely. What do I do? If I could find anything, id be all over it. But I have to be in early withdrawl before I see the doctor. I don't want to go through this again. I know I need the suboxone to quit the cycle. What do I do? This is my first experience with withdrawls.

If you have the suboxone therapy appointment on the 4th... Why are you letting yourself go into WD's so early? I thought you only had to be in withdrawals 12-24 hours before appointment?

I moved to a different state a year ago. I literally don't know anyone, so it's not like I have a hook up.

i dunno if this is useful... a mate is helping me CT right now and bought a load of diarrhoea meds, which apparently have something in them which is an opiate but doesn't effect the brain and are available OTC.

i haven't tried them, if i take any opiates this weekend its gotta be brown, and i'm sorry that i don't know the name of the thing in them which is supposed to help, or whether it really does help. maybe if anyone knows what i mean, they might be able to better advise.

good luck.

Get some kratom online man. It's a good back up for when you run dry.

The diarrhea med you're speaking of is Imodium A-D with the chemical loperamide in it. If you take it with cimetidine (heart burn med) it can help you get more out of it and can effectively stop most of your withdrawals. Taking it on its own is not that good and you need to take a lot of it. I'd start with 20mg and go from there. Don't know how big your habit is... Also remember it takes a long time to completely kick in. About 4 hours.

Look in Other Drugs. There is a lot of discussion on loperamide.

Imodium AD helped me A LOT many times. Usually when I was just looking for something to hold off WD between scripts. I really didn't take much of it this time that I actually decided to quit opiates until about 4 or 5 days in just to get rid of some lingering problems.

It does work. Maybe not for everyone but it's deff not a placebo affect. I never took it with anything to try and make it more effective because all I wanted was the relief. It can provide relief from just taking the edge off all the way up to completely taking away WD's. Just depends on amount taken and the person. I would usually take between 30-40 pills (60-80mg) and that would work for me. I never felt like I was getting addicted to it. And it didn't seem to prolong WD. That's just my experience though. Try to find the generic version though because the name brand can be expensive.

I have also tried Kratom for WD before and it never seemed to help great for me. I tried different strands from a reputable online vendor and while I'm not saying I didn't get effects and on it's own it would be quite fun to use... Using it when I was in WD's just never did it for me. But some people swear by it. Different strokes for different folks.
