I constantly have chills- goosebumps, a freezing cold feeling in my bones. It always goes away when I take opiates. Sometimes if I drink myself to sleep I fall asleep warm but wake up colder than ever...

I've always assumed this was a symptom of mild opiate withdrawal because I don't have a large habit (I only get high once a week), but I don't have any other symptoms of W/D, like diarrhea, nausea, fever, or intense cravings for opiates..

I am wondering if anyone might have any idea as to why I am always freezing like this. I have experienced full blown terrible W/D before so I have a pretty good idea of what W/D feels like.

If you are only getting high once a week this should have stopped.= if it was withdrawals. You might stop, have withdrawals, use, have a few more, but the pattern would not continue

Sounds like withdrawal to me. Unfortunately, im an Opana addict and when I start to withdrawal the worst symptom for me is the freezing cold chills and massive goosebumps that I get.

May I ask what drug you're using? I'm curious because people say Opana WDs are the worst, I was just wondering if the chills are worse on Opana than other drugs.

If I'm not mistaken, your DOC is Methadone. It could be a problem specific to the long-term half-life on the 'done, in particular. By the symptom going away, immediately after ingesting an opiate, I would almost bet it is WD related, somehow.

Yeah I've always assumed it was simply a symptom of minor withdrawal. For me the chills and goosebumps is my least favorite W/D symptom. When I quit a wicked dope habit I was in the bathtub for a week straight.

I guess I am just worried that MAYBE I might have some health problem that I have ignored for the past 6 or 7 years of addiction, that chills and goose-skin is a warning sign of...

I am by no means trying to validate my use of pain meds though- I like to get high

Yes, classic w/d symptoms. I kicked a 800 mg IV x 4-5 years oxycontin habbit. I too stayed in a bath tub for a week among all the other terrible w/d symptoms. After a couple weeks of being 100% sober I decided to IV an oxy. It felt great and everything but about two days later I had major uncomfortable goose bump only w/d. I still on occasion iv oxy and each time like clock work, two days after the injection I get the GB w/d for about two to three days.
