Withdrawal from small pod binge

So i've been taking pods for about 1 month and 1 week everyday about 12 grams a day. Before that I was chipping for a few months.

So I have stopped numerous times for 2 days then got bored. During this time I usually have felt fine.

On the second day without pods when I went to bed I got a shitty sleep and had this half awake feeling even though I was tired. I also had restless legs. I took kratom during the day and it completely hid the withdrawal. But I woke up at 4 in the morning with restless legs and couldn't sleep. I probably should of dosed kratom but decided to take 1 pod, which led me to take a few more.

So about how many days should I expect to feel crappy at night? I was thinking I could take a very small amount of poppy pod powder only at night to get rid of the RLS. I also have kratom that I can use. The RLS and no sleep really bugs me. Besides that i'm fine.

I was thinking 2-3 grams of poppy pod powder would stop RLS.

Generally i'm fine without having anything and the only irritating part of this whole process is my sleep cycle being messed up. And my appetite doesn't seem to be that great.

Any advice on making this as easy as possible would be appreciated.

Yeah, I usually get RLS kick in on around day 3. The way I've dealt with post-binge WDs the last few times was to use CWE'd codiene to overcome the morphine WD for 3-4 days, then used loperamide (which seems to help a little with the RLS/stomach cramps) and 5HTP for mood/sleep. A sedating antihistamine such as diphenhydramine may help with sleep too, unfortunately I use it for opiate itch control and nausea every time I take PPT, so I have a tolerance such that it no longer helps with sleep for me.

I seem to find the WDs kick in on day 2-3, and are over by day 5-6.

I have no experience with kratom, so can't offer any insight into if that will help.

That's all I needed was a time scale. These withdrawals take along time to surface. Almost like subs, so I was worried when I made that correlation.

I'm sure I can make it a week. I haven't been on them that long. I gotta admit though these pods had a way of tricking me. If I would of just taken a break 2 weeks ago I probably would of had a way easier time.

For what it's worth I've taken Diphenhydramine during withdrawal and it didn't help my RLS and made me super tired, but I still couldn't sleep. I'm hoping that Doxlamine will work better.

What you're feeling is normal for WD from pods. I went a long time using pods 'responsibly' by taking 2 day breaks in between getting high after binging for a month or two. It took me a long time to figure out that pods are nothing like taking a few vicodin/percocet. 2 days after your last pod dose the opiates/alkaloids are just starting to fully leave your system. A 2 day break from perks/vikes is an actual break because the opiates are coming out of your system like 6-8 hours after you last used.

The next realization i made after 7 days kicking/not getting out of bed/shitting myself/not sleeping for days is that even a 7 day break isn't a break really. Not like a 7 day break from perks/vikes. My body felt off, tolerance didn't come back, depression etc. I managed to get high from regular painkillers and kept it at that for a while but something was off with me.

Long story short, if you want to use pods and not get deep in i'd strongly recommend taking a month off of opiates altogether and using them extremely sparingly. I went basically 2.5 years on and off thinking i was being responsible, kicking, saying "oh shit i was deeper than i thought" (i had been using 30g then 60g a day for a time), eventually putting the pods down using 3.5lbs of seeds to lie to myself that i was ok and that it wasn't a big deal. I had no idea what i was messing with when i started using pods, thought it was just a semi-legal workaround to get opiates and that it was pretty much the same thing as taking a few perks.

Your experience may vary, but just be aware that pods/seeds can have a long, LONG reach and the fact that they're so long acting can trick you into thinking you're being responsible. Also, FWIW heroin is converted into morphine inside the body when taken. Pods are essentially a super slow long acting form of heroin.

If you are after advice on how to use small doses of pods to help with RLS/other WD symptoms then this thread would do better in Other Drugs I think (I can move it there for you) - we can't really help with that aspect and it could be triggering to people trying to abstain from pods entirely. If however you are after more general support and advice for coping with the withdrawals and keeping clean then more than happy for the thread to stay here :)

What do you think? You could always ask that part of your question in Other Drugs if you want to keep this thread in here :)

I think my threads good here. I like the darkside. :).

I was just looking for support and to voice how I felt. I dont like feeling shitty and am going to quit taking them completely. I have to go back to work in another 2 weeks so it's not like I can keep doing it.

Plus I wasn't even taking them that long. So hopefully I wont feel shitty for longer then a week. That was my main concern. The time length of the withdrawal.

Thanks guys for the advice.

Thought I would post an update.

So far today i've taken absolutely nothing. Last night I took about 4 grams of poppy pod powder. I then decided I dont want to take anything at all. So far today I feel fine, I got a good sleep last night.

I'm ready to get this over with. I do have kratom and I might take a little when I feel the withdrawal get bad. I also got some lope just incase and some doxalamine to sleep. So i'm over prepared.

I just want to get rid of this anxious feeling that withdrawal gives me. It makes me crave benzos more then opiates ironically. Time to go back to being drug free and just smoking weed :).

Good luck! <3 When you get anxious, don't forget to try deep breathing when you are first feeling it. I am always amazed at how effective it is when you just concentrate on long slow breaths in and out for a couple of minutes or more.
