Getting all 4 taken out on the 28th, curious as to what kind of pain i should be expecting afterward. All are considered "Bony" extractions on the pricing sheet and i was told that the top two are very close/touching my sinuses so I've been instructed not to blow my nose for two weeks. Bottom two are lodged deep near my jawbone/nerve. Also, what type of meds should i expect, painkiller wise? Guessing just some hydrocodone or low dosed oxycodone

I don't know how much pain you will experience, but yeah you should get at least a script for Vicodin for all 4 wisdom teeth out, Percocet if you are lucky. If what you get contains just hydrocodone/oxycodone and APAP, I would use ibuprofen on top of what is prescribed. Ibuprofen is a good NSAID in my opinion, and will help with the pain.

I had some complications with my wisdom teeth which caused a little more invasive surgery. I

was started off on 5mg Oxycodone/ 325mg APAP (#30) and 10mg Hydrocodone/ 650mg APAP

(#20) and I abused them right from the get go. I used up the Hydro in 4 days then didn't

take anything for the pain on day 5 except for 800mg Ibuprofen and 1G APAP and I did fine

as long as I didnt try to eat anything not mushy as hell and not drink cold or hot drinks. I

then used up my Oxycodone in about 2 days. So i ran out of opiates quick but never had any

pain I couldnt deal with.

When i got my four wisdom teeth removed, the bottom two were impacted. This required they put me out, and 'cut' the teeth out of my jaw. It honestly was not nearly as bad as I was expecting. They gave me a measly 20 vicoden, which did absolute shit since I was in the midst of a heroin addiction. Eating was tough for about a week, but other than that the pain throughout the day was more of a dull ache, than a severe pain. NSAIDS and rinsing with salt water helped immensely.

Don't worry about it, it is not bad what so ever.

When i had all 4 of mine removed i was 20, and all 4 were impacted. For me it was my first "surgery" and i had no experience with PK's so i dont know what i was prescribed. Having said that i had a really bad reaction to whatever they used to put me out. When i woke up i was a raging prick, was in intense pain, and borderline physical with the staff which is NOT my personality. I even insisted on driving home and had to be placed in the pass. seat by a rather large man that was tired of my attitude!

After i got home the PK's didnt do anything for the pain but they made me super sick so i suffered pretty bad. On the other hand many people i know have had this procedure and had no complications. Good Luck, i hope you're one of the lucky ones but that all comes down to whether or not they're impacted.

Just a note about the "bony" extraction part- I had 3 wisdom teeth removed a few weeks ago and the bottom one was called "bony extraction" but it was damn near completely out they just charged double for it. Maybe do some bitching and they might re adjust the price for you, but yours sound a lot deeper than mine were.

My pain wasn't too bad after the second or third day - all I got was vicodin 5/500 but again mine were not even really impacted. My cousin had badly impacted wisdom teeth and was given perc. so you may get that if yours are really bad.

Yeah my bottom two are impacted badly with no room between my back jaw and the front molars so he said there's going to be some serious cutting going on for them. I'm not worried, I've had surgery a few times on my back so i know what to expect going under general. Forreal though, if all i get is a scrip for T3...i will probably start to argue with him on the spot.

i was rx'd vicodin ES but this was ages ago, seems like these days oral surgeons are more reluctant to rx anything good. It also depends on your body size. if you are a big 200+lb guy you are going to get stronger meds than a 95lb girl would get.

It sounds like the surgery is going to be a little rougher than normal, so who knows, maybe you will get some perc 10's but i wouldnt hold my breath...probably will just get like 30 vicodin or something. At least it heals up quick if you take care of it afterwards.

Vicodin is the strongest medication prescribed regularly for these kind of procedures. Isn't impossible to get over things, just unlikely. It depends ALOT on the dentist too, some guy claimed he received Dilaudid for some mouth procedure, I don't know how much merit I'd really give that if any.

I only had one tooth removed and had to ask specifically for pain meds. All they were gonna give was Tylenol, but your situation sounds more painful. I'd imagine they'll give you 30 or so hydrocodones or maybe oxys. Make sure to emphasize how scared you are of it hurting afterward, but don't ask for anything by name.

Exactly what i did, i think i played my cards very well in the questions i asked about pain and how i worded it/acted during the consultation. The guy seems mad cool so I'm hopeful. I will definitely resurrect this thread in two weeks and post what i ended up getting

I think if you get Percocet or another product with oxycodone that is fairly lucky when it comes to tooth extraction.

well I got all 4 of mine out today, was under general anesthetic and woke up groggy as hell. lots of blood for about 2 hours but no pain. only prescribed t3's and ibuprofen and the freezing is going away now. lots of pain on my lower right side, right now as well as cheek swelling. I looked at it about an hour ago and it looks like the side of my cheek was sliced with a knife???8o So the only real pain is on the one tooth area. just took one advil and 1 t3. gonna try and save those to get high on after surgery when I can enjoy it.

My oral surgeon asked if I wanted to be put to sleep & I said no.......anyway, it was 7 years ago when I had my wisdom teeth taken out & the only thing they did was shoot me up with novocaine & something else. I didnt feel a thing when they pulled them out. I was lucky because the teeth were not attached to the bone. The slipped right out, lucky me. I only needed to use like 2 tylenols a day.

If you are looking for the good meds, im sure they will give them to you, but just dont go in there asking for them like an addict. Just play it cool like everyone else has stated.

EDIT: My bad, I didnt see your post. I see you got T3's. Like you said, if you can save them to get high on & enjoy them, that would be the best, good luck & get well!

i had one taken out barely impacted...sucked balls...you bleed forever...and dont smoke...dry socket is real.....real real...but i didnt get anything...thinkin about gettin my other 2 take out 2...also the bottom is 2x as worse as the top...and did i mention dry socket?..

So yeah I only got a small bottle maybe 20-25 t3's with 30mg codeine I believe. The pain isnt that bad and mostly in the one side where it was growing in crooked. If my dad wasnt there with me I woulda said something like I dont like medicine with acetometephen and would like some oxycotin please lol. Also the general anesthetic wasnt bad at all. some people say it stings for a second or 2. Me I didnt feel a thing and was literally out less than a second from when they started it. only thing is I cant really eat good, though im good at swallowing spoonfuls of kd whole so thats good lol.

That would be such a bad idea...can't be that open about it...all about wording. If i just got T3's with 30mg codeine i would be sooooo pissed.

Like i said, I'm hopeful, i played my cards right and on top of that I'm a big guy, 6.2 210lb so that always helps getting higher doses...at least it worked post back surgery.
