Here we are a month into winter. The doona is well and truly out of the cupboard and I might just try some flannelette sheets. Only the brave swim in the ocean in winter (I swam for about 90 seconds last weekend), but there has been some awesome sunsets down there.
I have quickly complied a list of a few of the good and bad things about winter, feel free to contribute.
- No daylight savings so unless you go to the gym, exercise walking is usually done in the dark (with headtorch assistance)
- Cold nights means sore necks.
- Avocados (that are 3 bucks each)
- Good luck drying clothing on a clothes line.
- Clear sunny days/no humidity.
- 2 dollars a kilo for mandarins.
- Less tourists.
- Coriander doesn't bolt to seed overnight.
- Don't have to water pot plants as much.
- Minimal sweat.
Also. How do they supply water to places in Alpine regions? Treated tank water from summer rains? Water tankers up and down the mountain? I've never been, but I swear a bottle of water would be $5 bucks down there.
