Bupe Will Subutex mask the withdrawal period?

If I'm dependent on 2-300mg of oxycodone a day, can I just take sub for the 5 day w/d period to "treat the symptoms" of withdrawal, and then stop sub on day 6 and be over the w/d period?
 
No. it also is an opioid and will prolong the WD period. One method I read about was to take a single large dose of bupe once your withdrawal symptoms are bad enough from no oxy, and just let that be the first day of your new life. The large dose of sub will slowly wear off over the next 3 to 5 days and should soften the blow according to what I read. A big dose is prob like 16 mg or something. I guess only you know what a safe dose is for you :) GoodLuck :)
