will my memory ever be back to its original state?

Memory impairment issues can be resolved by smoking strains with higher levels of cannabidiol(cbd)

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20884951

"Unlike the marked impairment in prose recall of individuals who smoked cannabis low in cannabidiol, participants smoking cannabis high in cannabidiol showed no memory impairment"

"Cannabidiol content did not affect psychotomimetic symptoms, which were elevated in both groups when intoxicated."

My my that was a poorly recorded experiment. I hope that was just the abstract. Interesting, though... but leaves a lot up to the imagination.

Pretty sure it was a reactionary study due to all the hype going on in the UK over the dangers of kids going psycho on "skunk" weed. Nonetheless CBD is known to be an "anti-psychotic" and their findings do make sense in regards to memory issues. GW Pharma did a lot of research on the mediating effects of cannabidiol on THC and had similar results. This is partially why they use a 1:1 ratio for Sativex.

I also realized that my memory and vocabulary were also not looking too hot when I started smoking weed very regularly - but then I saw that it wasn't the pot, but the fact that I wasn't reading books as much as before and rather just watching movies.

So I started reading a lot of books again, and engaging in interesting conversations with my boyfriend and friends, and before I knew it I was back to my old self - my grades are amazing (I am at university) and my vocabulary is back at an acceptable level.

Weed really isn't to blame for all the things people think it is... In my personal experience - I'm not making assumptions on behalf of anyone else.

If I were you, I would be careful not just about your memory, but about your overall emotional development, which will very likely be slowed down by excessive weed use.
If you use weed once a month, I doubt very much that you will find any problems.
Once a week may be okay as well.
But I would suggest against using more than that, at your age.
I began smoking once a day when I was 17, and it definitely hurt me in some ways.

As for the memory issue, I think mine recovered, but I can't quite remember...

I've found it detracts from my concentration / ability to absorb information moreso than actually hampering me recalling information.
But i started ~18 with moderate usage, and i've scaled up slightly now into my 20s but i'm still by no means a heavy user.
+1 smoke less study more if it's a problem / worry.
ed: also agree with assassin to a degree, the lack of verbose vocabulary I personally feel was more a symptom of my antisocial state, i drifted slightly into a depression without much MJ use at the time, became insular and didn't talk to people... Write a diary, read books or come on BL more.
