After reading up on it I was interested in trying mephedrone. Before I spend the cash I was just wondering, I know mehpedrone affects the same part of the brain as mdma. So if mdma doesn't give me any euphoria anymore, will mephedrone not work either?

If someone who's completely lost the magic with mdma and has tried mephedrone could let me know would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, I think it will. I think that's what makes Meph so popular the fact alot of people have rinsed thier brains.

BTW Methylone probably WONT work much as it's similer to MD

It's a "reported phenomenon" in the United States, which says it all really. Biologically the term "losing the magic" means absolutely nothing. It's just a laymens term to describe someones undesired increase in tolerance. I rolled every week or two for 6 months, sometimes taking down multiple grams in a weekend, and I haven't "lost the magic" because I understand that the phenomenon does not exist, so I don't worry about it. It only exists on here because people hype the statement like crazy and start a new thread about it every day in Ecstasy Discussion. New MDMA and bluelight users come on here looking for real information, and see the term thrown around so often they worry about "losing their magic", sometimes after as little as two or three uses... madness! People get piped and think they "lost the magic", they use too often without taking a break and peg the underwhelming experience that results as a "loss of magic" and then they tell other people they "lost the magic" so those people can start worrying about it... its a vicious cycle that needs to end. This is an extremely informative site with a helpful and often intelligent user base, lets please lay this term to rest.

Lost your "magic"? Take a 6 month break. Realize perception of any experience changes over time. Embrace the changes and make the most out of every new roll.

Actually, the magic is very real ... It's called serotonin, and if you don't have any available in your brain at the time of rolling, it will not feel the same as if you did. Point blank.

We need to lay to rest these myths that people who abuse this drug way too frequently come up with to rationalize it.

Yea I get that serotonin is what people refer to as "magic". Of course the "magic" (we should be calling it serotonin because we are all smarter than that) is real. I was suggesting that you never permanently lose your magic, you just need to take a break to let your tolerance go down and your serotonin levels balance out. There's nothing "magic" about it. I do not abuse the drug, I now take 3-4 month MINIMUM breaks in between uses.

Did you even read what I wrote? Did I suggest that anyone should abuse the drug? I suggested remedying a "loss of magic" by taking a break. Permanent "loss of magic" does not exist, and if you're suggesting it does, by your own logic, you're saying people can lose their serotonin forever.

^ I disagree, there is definately 'magic' about rolling on a rested brain... ya it's lamens terms, but dude you can't always explain advanced pharmocology to a typical etard raver who has 'lost their magic'. sometimes you gotta use lamens terms for their disfunctional etarded brains to half-assed comprehend.

Maybe once they realize the 'magic' is gone, they will take a long enough break for their mind to recover enough to comprehend the importance of serotonin to the neurologic system & to the unique qualities MDMA has to offer.

Mephedrone feels like MDMA did when I was new to MDMA - I lovvve mephedrone! I limit my use to once a month or less, which I wish I had with MDMA in the beginning.

My only claim was that there's no such thing as permanently losing the magic, which is what people are always talking about on here. I know that YOU know that you don't just "lose the magic" forever.

So I guess you could say that you "lost the magic" because you've taken it too much lately but too many of these people fear they'll never get their "magic" back and that is the real problem, a problem inherent with use of a word like "magic". Can't we be more informative than that?

It's not as simple as serotonin depletion, receptor downregulation and neurotoxicity play a part as well, and they are much longer lived.

Ya, I interpretted that you meant the 'magic' was all crap no substance. I try to explain it as 'magic' to people who have lost it, maybe they understand if they take a long break 'the magic comes back'

^ which is why i tell everybody 5htp is no more useful than getting a little sunlight. 5htp doesn't do shit for improving damaged receptors. What good is pumping your brain with 5htp if it's not absorbing it properly...

ultimately, the function of everything related to serotonin, receptors, transporters(SERT), and the serotonin itself are what factors into magic..

time, sunlight, healthy diet, exercise, heal these things.

What is reversible about receptor downregulation could take at least 6 months, which is why I suggested taking a 6 month break.

From experience I definitely agree that 5-htp is relatively useless. As stated over and over in ED, time, sunlight, healthy diet, exercise (^^^) are the most effective ways to improve your rolls and your mental state in general.

^ no doubt. I always tell people 3 month minimum, 6-12+ after abuse if they want to properly recover.

99/100 people say shit like "HOW DO YOU DO IT MAN? I ROLL EVERY MONTH AND ITS STILL HARD NOT TO!"

but ya, 3 months between and a 6-12 here & there is ideal for 'magic' maintenance.;)

And I challenge everyone who has 'lost magic', to wait a year and I'd put money the magic comes back. been der dun dat ;)

For real. Honestly, to achieve a balance similar to never having done MDMA in the first place, a break of several years may be necessary depending on frequency of use. The one month thing... not enough time in between, not even close.

You mean like lose your tolerance completely? I've found you either have the magic or you don't. If you have a little, you just need a higher dose. I.E. you can double drop 2 dank beans every three months, if you follow a strict schedule and obtain the same, floory high each time, as long as you exercise discipline on your breaks, not going on benders, etc. But that's heading for a state of perpetual e-tardation... not recommended, honestly. If it takes 3 months to recover from a single 2 pill roll, and you do it every 3 months. You're never going to be fully-recovered without long, long breaks
