Opioids will kratom be worth while? (after existing opiate use\addiction)

So, Iv been on codeine/dihydocodeine/buprenorphine for a while, 5-6 years I think. I started on codeine and oxycodone years ago when a family member got them for major surgery and refused to use them. after they sat in a draw for almost a year, they didn't need them so I took them. I then buggered my knee and have been prescribed codeine and dhc ever since. I was put on bupe about 2 months ago, I took it for a month and then went back on codeine.
My questions are; Do the people who rave about kratom have previous opiate tolerance? I know my use has been mostly limited to fairly weak opiates, Im still skeptical on how good kratom will be. (worried it wont work basically)
I take 500mg ish of codeine without being too fucked up. Will kratom be worth while? or would I have to dose too high and deal with too many side effects?
Im really curious about this, but dont want to blow cash on a useless (to me) plant.
Thanks for any help everyone. :D

Dude... I've a 10YEAR dope/tar/oxy/suboxone/fent/Roxi habit. I got clean about a month ago, 6g of kratom got me feeling great.
Give it a shot

yea man it wont get you fucked up but it will give you energy and make you feel a little better but it is legal so that should give you an idea of how intense the "buzz" is going to be

Thanks for the responses everyone! That is good news =D Iv been quite interested in trying it since I heard about it but so far haven't, mainly due to not wanting to waste my already tiny income (Thanks for setting me straight ;) )
^ And Iv never seen legality as a limiting factor when it comes to how 'good' a substance is. Lots of good drugs were once legal (Recently legal good'uns; 2C-X's, AL-LAD, aMT) But still, thanks for the input :) I didn't expect much from it really, now Iv got some optimism!

I've taken a lot of kratom and I find it to be pretty useless. Even with potentiators. For me I can never get much more than a light hydrocodone buzz no matter how much I've tried. Plus it always makes me sick. It's alright if you have nothing else. Overall though, I think it is over rated. I've tried it probably 30 times now. All different strains and extracts. If you're looking for a good opiate buzz, in my experience.. you'll be disappointed.

People who take kratom and expect a full-blown opiate effect, a nod, a rush, the sun rising in your soul, all that, you're going to be disappointed. If you're looking for an inexpensive, legal, safe, effective plant medicine for the mind, then kratom will deliver.

Im glad you posted that because that is very true. Plus I'm eating those words. I said before that I see it as useless yet since quitting meth it has been god sent. It has not only helped tremendously with the depression and anxiety associated with quitting meth but it also has consequently given me the energy and mental clarity needed to start working again. Kratom really has pulled through for me as being a wonder drug.

I've had uei which wasn't bad, but was no cheaper than a couple pills or dope, and the Bali leaf, same issue very light light effects with 20g for the price of a 30 or a few bags of h. Money better spent elsewhere I feel.

I've found it to be quite worthwhile. I mean, compared to codeine it's much better in my opinion (as codeine hasn't ever done anything for me). I don't get a lot of nausea from it, unless I take too much (which is to be expected with most things). I use it for both chronic pain and a pleasant time.

I agree. Codeine also causes withdrawals for me pretty quickly.

Yeah, its not "chewing a fent patch" good... But shit works. Try not to give it too much though, 6g in tea and an hour later you're very pleasantly surprised
