Okay I am really wanting off this phenibut. I have used for two straight weeks and I feel I am becoming a tragic dependent. I read horror stories and I have withdrawal'd from gabapentin which sux and klonopin with sucks too. Every time I wake up in the morning I feel this burning like sensation in my feet and lungs......My pee smells horrible which isn't a good sign. I may use up to 2 gram's a day... I was just wondering will the klonopin atleast ease some of the withdrawals.?

Are you using them both at the same time? It may be easier to taper off using klonopin, but then it's better to get off the phenibut and control WDs through klonopin dosage.

gaba-a agonists will not touch gaba-b withdrawal. This is what every single person has said about their experiences with gaba-b withdrawal, not sure if it's 100% true but your best bet is to find another gaba-b agonist to taper with.

Yes I think it will help. There seems to be opposing theories on what GABA receptors Phenibut works on, some literacy suggests just GABAb but some literacy suggests GABAa.

Have you planned a tapered withdrawal programme or anything? I think that's the first thing that you need to do, if you can taper off of it without using Benzo's then that'll be better for you because you don't then risk Klonopin addiction and subsequent withdrawals with that, though supplementing a tapered withdrawal programme with a small dose may provide you some comfort and relief. The research on it just seems a little contradictary and not so certain so the only way to tell is to probably just try a small therapeutic dose of Klonopin and see if it provides you with relief.

I've never used Phenibut so cannot help with providing or creating a withdrawal programme, so perhaps somebody else could.

Best of luck,

Rybee :)

edit; as the poster above me suggested, Baclofen would seem better to use. Though I doubt it's as easy to obtain as Klonopin/other Benzos.

Just taper off the phenibut. Considering the doses used, there is way more wiggle room in gradually decreasing the dose than with something that comes in such small doses as clonazepam. And as was already mentioned, clonazepam and phenibut work at different GABA receptor sub types, so its not a suitable drug to switch over to in the first place. Clonazepam will relieve some of the anxiety and restlessness associated with any kind of GAGAergic withdrawal, but only take it if you absolutely have to have something to take the edge off. If you are going to use it at all, use the lowest doses possible and don't take it regularly. Take maybe .25-.5 mg AS NEEDED ONLY, and I wouldn't take it more than once or twice a day MAX, amnd maybe only 3-4 days a week. Seriously, it would be a shame to come off phenibut and be left with a benzo habit, which is magnitudes worse to come off of. I speak from experience. Just taper the phenibut, stay hydrated, eat healthy foods, try to exercise and get proper sleep. Take vitamins, especially B vitamins, and supplement with magnesium and maybe l-theanine.

Cut your dose by a quarter gram a day? That'll put you at 1.75g the day after you start and you'll finish a week later.

If that's too harsh, cut it by a quarter gram every other day. If that's not fast enough, ditch half a gram daily.
