How long were you dependent on alcohol and have been addicted to it prior to getting clean and this new episode of alcohol mis/over-use?
You almost certainly will experience some degree of acute withdrawal if you were formally dependent and addicted to it. How severe it is will probably depend on how dependent you were before and prior experiences of withdrawal.
How bad was your withdrawal from it getting off it prior to this happening? Your prior experience of acute withdrawal is basically how you need to gauge what you will experience this time around. It is difficult for us to determine the severity of what it will be like for you now.
You should begin to notice symptoms within 12 hours of not drinking. If it isn’t bad by the 24 hour mark, it probably won’t be life threatening, though it will probably be nice and uncomfortable (insomnia, some GI disfunction, anxiety, depression mood swings, etc. etc., all the “normal” symptoms of acute withdrawal will apply to one degree or another).
Get your hands on some Chlordiazepoxide (Librium), Clonazepam, Diazepam or Baclofen to assist you in your detox. Get some Valproic Acid to help ensure you will not experience a seizure at the very least. If nothing else a doctor should be readily willing to prescribe Librium, Baclofen and Valproic Acid because they are not really abuse-able in your situation and are commonly used to treat the acute withdrawal of alcohol withdrawal.
