hii , ive taken valpam2 2mg x4tablets. i took two tablets and ive been under stress and completely forgot that i had only taken the tablets 1hr earlier, i also take oxynorm 10mgs. so in total 4x 2,g valpam tablets and 1 oxynorm tablet today. Will i be ok....?:|
 
Not another one of these thread,....

I am not familiar with Valpam, have no experience with Oxynorm. You should really think about this kind of thing before you take it. Just make sure you dont take anymore and stay in a safe/comfortable (home) and hope for the best.
 
Has anyone experienced symptoms of CNS/respiratory depression? How do you know its happening? What kind of things should be looked out for when combining benzos/codeine/downers in general?

Is your resting BPM an indicator?

I don't know what any of that shit is but personally I would probibly go scull a bottle of wine to wash it down, that's just me of course.
 
You have taken 8mg of diazepam which is quite a low dose, you say you take oxynorm regularly, 10mg of oxycodone is not a large dose to somebody who is used to it.

I would honestly reccomend a slightly higher dose of any given substance on its own to a complete first time user for a recreational experience. If someone was completely naive to both drugs and felt the need to poly drug use (which is never particularly wise, and certainly not when unfamiliar with any or all of the drugs you will be using) a dosage quite similar to what you took would not be overly dangerous in my view as it is quite conservative.

If you feel you have difficulty breathing or trouble remaining conscious you should call for help, if you are that concerned possibly tell somone what you have taken and they can make sure you are alright.

I would honestly be very surprised to hear of a fatality or even neccessary hospitalisation of someone who took 8mg of diazepam and 10mg of oxycodone throughout the day without them having a nasty allergic reaction. In future though I think you should take more care in researching the drugs you are taking and think seriously twice before using several drugs in combination.

What would 10mg oxycodone be in plain codeine mg wise?
 
If memory serves me correctly, assuming one was taking both orally, 10mg of oxycodone would equal somewhere between 100 and 120mg of codeine. In terms of recreational effect to a non tolerant user I imagine the oxy would be slightly better unless the person was a strong metaboliser of codeine.

I would just like to point out the danger in my innerself and pisspotnrocks (presumably sarcastic/joking) advice, while to a tolerant individual adding alcohol to the mix may be pleasant, to non tolerant people it should definately be avoided and is probably not a great idea regardless.

I don't like having these threads around; if you believe you may be in danger, you need to seek medical assistance. If you aren't sure if it's serious, then call the Poisons Line or seek out a friend to watch over you.

What if we had a dedicated thread here for people to discuss the best options for handling potential or realized drug mishaps?

So if I were to take 300mg codeine would it be safe to take 30mg temazepam an hour or two after taking the codeine (ridiculous tolerance for both) 1.5 years daily use of multiple benzos.

I would wager you'd be fine, barring an allergic reaction or adding more CNS depressants.

^ It can be, but it is likely to be lower anyway due to the inherent nature of CNS depressants. A pulse rate of 50 or under can be dangerous, but fitness levels and individual health can alter this.

In most cases where people die from drugs or drug combinations like this, it is due to too much and too quickly. This is why administration methods like IV or smoking are riskier; they give a higher peak plasma concentration and faster then other routes.

The real danger lies in becoming unconscious and being unaware of your breathing, especially when vomiting as you may block your airway and asphyxiate.

Bear in mind, I'm not saying it's impossible to OD from intranasal or oral administration. If you are still waiting for the peak effect to kick in and think it may have been too strong, breathing is more difficult and you are having trouble staying awake then you should seek help. If you are at the peak or after and are awake, able to breathe and aren't going to add other substances to the mix, then the danger is not so great.

And of course, in an emergency don't consult BL. ;)

I think a sticky titled: "Taken Drug Combos Will I Be OK?" or something similar with all the appropriate numbers you can dial for assistance would be a great idea.
 
^ no one reads the stickies though :/ Could be a good idea to post some poison hotline details at the top of the AusDD page though if we keep getting threads like this, I'll bring it up with the other mods.

We can't safely second-guess whether a combo at particular doses is ever going to be safe for someone as we'll never know their medical history, level of tolerance, experience with the drugs, current state of fitness etc. As already stated by everyone above, if you think you're in danger then swallow your pride and seek medical assistance ASAP, not the help of those in the internet...
