Getting up early tomorrow for a routine STD workup, but was planning on bumping probably around 30 mg of oxycodone tonight ... I realize I'm probably being a little paranoid, but having that drug in my bloodstream won't foul up any of the tests, will it?

Hi, this really isn't the place for this question. I'm going to move this to basic drug discussion. I think the guys and girls over there can answer it better. :)

BDD, sorry if this is the wrong place.

What STDs are you being tested for and how were the specimens taken? Swabs? urine? blood? other?

I work in a microbiology lab and we spend a fair amount of our time testing for STDs.

If they are testing blood then they will not look for anything other than what is requested (The STDs) and it wont be apparent if there are any drugs in the sample unless they have been requested to run a drug screening test too.

They will only test for what has been requested. If they added on more tests that were not related to the original tests then the person that requested the STD tests would be charged more, this wouldn't happen. So I think you will be fine. :)

Will leave this open for a tad longer to see if anyone else has something valuable to add, but I am prety certain that what I have mentioned is correct.

They are testing for disease not drugs.. So the oxy will be fine. I take roxi and I have never gotten a false positive for a STD on a normal gyno visit.

Will close this now as you have your answer, I have personal experience preparing and reading the results from the tests and working with the scientists who only ever look fo rthe bacteria/viruses and anything else is inconsequential to their eyes.
