Why smoking meth caused tachycardia but eating didnt?

I want to keep this question brief as possible without going into my long and complex medical condition so to put it briefly, i have a chemical sensitivity resulting from a damaged autonomic nervous system (you can read more about it in my previous topics) and ive been stuck in bed for many months due to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and after long consideration I am keen use stimulants to overcome my bedridden state.

However due to my chemical sensitivity i can only use a tiny dose. So i devided a point if crystal meth into 20 little parts and tried smoking 1/20 th of a rock but within the seconds after the first inhalation my heart began thumping rapidly. I almost called an ambulance but after 5 minutes my heart rate went back to normal. I only had one toke on the glass pipe so and i didnt even have the chance to get high.

So the next day i decided to try eating the ice instead. Once again i started with the same dose i had smoked and put it in a capsule and swallowed but nothing happened so ive been slowly increasing my dose everyday and finally yesterday i felt the ice working. But the oral method took 5 times larger dose than what i had smoked to feel it .

So im puzzled why the first initial puff from smoking caused my heart to race but eating the ice did not cause any problems?

Smoking is a direct route being more intense, but also an immediate rush. Could it be possible that the immediate hit of meth to your bloodstream could have just made you anxious?

Also seems like meth is taking the plunge. Deciding to use an amp to help your condition I can understand, but meth? You seem sensitive to it with the way you described breaking out the point, why not just use a weaker amp? Using it for the reasons you stated it sounds like a good idea to have something more consistent in purity. (Rx grade) I don't know if that's an option for you.. but if you can score meth you ought to be able to score Adderall or Dexedrine.

Annoying peripheral stimulation falls off pretty quickly with frequent administration, IME. But not so quickly as I think you're talking about, especially with near therapeutic doses.

Bingo.

Also, depending on how evenly you pulverized it, eyeballed doses that small can have a substantial degree of inaccuracy.

Wait, how is that supposed to work? Really, I'm legit confused by the BL-wide assumption that the availability of a substance in a given class is inversely proportional to its "hardness."

Yes it actually felt like what should have been a rush for you healthy folks, in my case was interpreted as just pure tachycardia. But I can assure you this did not feel like anxiety, in fact I was surprised that my heart began racing at such a low dose, i kept telling myself, "this is impossible, what is going on right now"

Believe me I would have much preferred Adderall or Ritalin but I no longer have any social circle after being disabled for 15 years following my drug overdose. It was hard enough finding a stimulant and unfortunately it happen to be ice.

I divided crystal sizes as close as I could and Ive been increasing by a tiny sand size granual each day to figure out where the active dose begins and where my tolerance is at. But now that you mentioned inaccuracy I started thinking perhaps even some of the same sized crystals might contain different strengths perhaps due to mixed batch or the process it was made. So I decided after reading your comment to just crush the remaining bag into powder and give it a good shake so now it will all be the same consistency?

^Yeah, I try to crush it as powdery as possible, seems to improve my ability to get just where I want to be. Maybe that's because it takes up more space and I tend to overestimate my doses, whereas with variably sized crystal chunks I always underestimate them. It's certainly easier to fix a weaker than intended experience than a stronger than desired one.

That brings me to the other bizarre problem. After ingesting the meth it took me around 4 hours to kick in. There is clearly something wrong with my body. I remember back before i damaged my body i used to take drugs and it would kick in within an hour.

This time round i took the meth at 5 pm and when it failed to work within the 2 hours i gave up on it and around 9pm at night i was seetling dow to watch a movie and then suddenly i felt sweat runing down my body and a surge of adrenalin. I went to wash my face, i then look in the mirror and my pupils are massive and im suddenly feeling off my nut and i decided i would use the oppurtunity to clean my room which i had neglegted for almost a year due to my fatigue syndrome, but my head was a fuzzy mess and i couldnt focus on any task. I just kept walking around in circles thinking "i only took a tiny bit, how the hell did it hit me so hard". If my body hadnt been damaged i would have taken the whole point and yet 1/15 th of a dose had me buzzing. But then it only lasted like 2 hours and i was ready for bed.

So its really weird. I know i would need to take the whole point or at least half to get the full long lasting effect and yet i cant do that because i was so easily overwhelmed and feeling rather overheated from just a fraction of the dose which lasted very shortly. Anyone shed some light on this reaction?

I do not believe your heart rate would have gone down after 5 minutes if it was caused by the drug's effect. Ice lasts, even when smoked.

I think you may have misunderstood me.,i only took just one single inhalation and it was only 1/20th of a point of ice. So i agree with others here who suggested that my tachycardia was most likely caused by the rush effect and not from the actual meth itself cause i didnt have enough of it to actually work.

I have an important question.

Ive been on oxycodone for chronic pain for the past few years. Is it okay for me to take like half the dose of my oxycodone just to keep the withdrawals away when im on meth? So it will only be a small dose of oxycodone with a small dose of meth, neither dose will be too significant but together can it clash?

You should be fine with that combination.

I also have a question regarding the onset time. Why is it taking 4 hours after ingesting for the meth to start working?

I realize my body is a bit different due to my illness but 4 hours seems very wrong. I dont feel anything for 4 hours and then it hits me. Could it be that its slow to be absorbed or am i just feeling the peak effects at the 4 hour mark because im taking a low dose and only the peak is noticable?

That's my mistake for assuming not only the drug scene in his area, but his social connections. Pharmaceuticals are wide spread here in NY, and tend to be a guaranteed back up plan when the methyl guys are hiding in their attics from the shadow feds. It really wasn't about a chemical's "hardness." (a term I don't even agree has a legit place with drugs) You can walk to any corner here and score crack, but cocaine is on the same level as hunting the holy grail.

The majority of doctors here are not much different than pulling up to a street dealer. In most cases an Adderall prescription would take longer to fill at the pharmacy than the ten minute appointment to request it. Dexedrine is still an elusive one though..
