Opioids Why isnt my suboxone working!

I've been taking suboxone for a couple years now, but a month ago decided to start injecting for my own reasons. Ive been injecting 1mg to 2mg a day and useing 2mg strips and never had a problem. Last tuesday my dr gave me 8mg and i broke them down and shot 2mg and not much happened. But ever since then when i take my suboxone i feel absolutely nothing its like nothing gets in my system. I figured it may be the naloxone may have actually done what it was suppose to do for once but i never felt any withdrawl systems and surely it would last in my system 4 days. The only thing different that i can tell about myself is ive been sweating a little bit more and my head feels like its swolen but doesnt hurt.
Has anyone else ever had this problem? I'm kinda panicing about it cause im not sure whats going on with my body. Any help would be very apreciated.

Im gonna say tolerance is the factor. The naloxone will have no effect since bupe out competes it at the receptor level.

When I shoot my subs, I don't get any feeling at all unless I do a ton. That's the way it should be. I mean, if you are registering the shots then it's getting inside your bloodstream

It just seems like a strange coincedence that the day i change to those 8mgs everything changes. Monday i got a pretty good feeling shooting half a 2mg strip and then feel absolutely nothing the next day when i shoot a quarter of the 8mg strip.

Same thing happened to me, man. I used to get a great buzz from Suboxone, using it every other day @ 2 mg (2 years before that at 8 mg every few days). This lasted for about 9 months, and now for the past year I get no feeling whatsoever from it (aside from alleviating withdrawal). I also get the feeling that none of it is getting into my system. I take it every day now, but I stopped getting a buzz (or any feeling at all) from it when I was still taking it every other day.

As mentioned above, if you're shooting it it's getting into your bloodstream.

I don't think it is necessary to use such high dosages.

I have gotten by on 160mcg per shot for a while now; I think that too much buprenorphine tends to cause dysphoria, due to the effect it has where too much of it "spills over" into other receptors.

Have you thought about cutting back on your dosage, or number of dosages per day?

The naloxone has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Listen to the Captain on this one. Bupe is better in lower doses. Be safe when shooting those strips as well, I've done it before and it's like a sludge. Make sure you filter.

for sure, the sludge that is created from the film strips really should be micron filtered first, as I am convinced it isn't safe to inject otherwise.

probably tolerance bro... honestly whateveryones saying is right... IMO ppl have to find the "right "dose that works for them.. but the recommended 16mg a day is pretty bad..

Honestly i take between 4-6mg's a day because it makes me feel the most normal with no cravigs;I did try taking 2-3 mgs per day for a while and didnt like it becasue i felt high and had more cravings cause my receptors werent all covered; kinda a weird paradox .. I mean i felt my doses more.. and basically still had cravings cause some receeptors weretnt filled

suboxone works, i can guarantee, it may not work as far as killing your cravings to use opiates and the mental aspect, but damn it will be keep you out of physical withdrawl from whatever opiate ur detoxing from (that i guarantee) which is the whole purpose of suboxone, prevent you from physically withdrawling from opiates. its not like methadone where ur gonna get high and shit, suboxone is a partial agonist, dont expect a high. jst appreciate to not have to be suffering in physically WD from opiates all the time.

oh yeah. sometimes when your taking alot of methadone or alot of opana, it may take 8mg of suboxone to relieve withdrawl, and it does take time to kick in due to long half life of suboxone, so be patient you will feel better sorry i skimmed the thread im sure ur not seeking a buzz...i remember i had to take 16mg suboxone just to get ot of a 200mg methadone habiit....most opiates including heroin, allz ya need is 4mg and ur dandy and out of WD

I preciate all the advice. Im not worried about a buzz from it. I just usually can feel it kick in my system but for some reasson i cant feel it kick in anymore and i get these crazy preasure headaches. Its like im not even taking anything. I even to a bigger dose to see if i could feel it and again i felt nothing just like i never took anything. I called my doc and he said it wasnt normal and hes never heard of anything like this before. But he also couldnt tell me what is going on. I want to get off of it for a couple days to get most of it out of my system and see if that helps but everyday i think well maybe itll doe something this time. Hard to break routine

And like the doc said it isnt tolerence because that will gradually accure where this was a one day felt good and the next day felt nothing. Also if it was tolerance i would felt something when i tried a higher dose.

Well all I can say is that when you use Bupe on a regular basis - ie in a suboxoneprogram -
you develope a tolerance and you will not get high.
Though most of us get that sence of a mood stabilizing effect from it when you don't get a buzz anymore.
But I can also relate that once you start injecting the Bupe you develope a tolerance much quicker and going
back to sublingual or nasal administration will be quite hard.

I know some people manage to do it quite well but its not for everyone.

For me i started to get depressed rather than stabilized from my Subs so I saw no point taking them they just made me manic and worse
so I switched over to Methadone, while its not either giving me any buzz anymore it does stablilize me.

When you start to IV tolerance sky-rockets my man. Thats how it is.
And Bupe is pretty special because if you aint getting a buzz of 2 or 4mg then 8 or 32mg wont get you buzzed either. Its special that way.
