I know that cannabis is both a stimulant and a depressant, but is it more of a stimulant, or is it more of a depressant? Also, in what ways is cannabis a depressant? It stimulates both appetite and heart-rate. I don't get why it's considered a depressant.

It can make you anxious, paranoid and depressed. It also makes me really tired and I fall asleep instantly if I smoke it at night.

Eh ? Cannabis a stimulant ? Yer right, last time I was on speed I ate 11 bags of crisps.(honestly) Ganja does not make me sleepy either, even full on Indica strains do not, relaxed ? Yes. Sleepy ? No..

I'm weird though, so there is always that.=D

Varies from person to person, strain to strain, indica to sativa, between set and setting and maybe even whether the planets are lined up (or not).

Last week I smoked some purple panama x ace and I was amped up, vacuuming whilst listening to fast paced music. Tonight, I'm smoking an indica leaning cream caramel strain which hash my eyes drooping just like I'm on an opiate. Cannabis can act as both a depressant and a stimulant, it just depends.

Cannabis isn't really exclusively a stimulant or a depressant. It's a bit of both, and it's both strain-, dose- and context-dependent.

It's considered a "depressant" because it can have e.g. sedative, antispasmodic properties. It's considered a "stimulant" because it can produce euphoria, raise heart rate, and even cause mental stimulation.

The idea that cannabis is a "stimulant" or "depressant" is archaic DEA terminology, in my opinion.
