I notice PMA still exists.. Still gets synthesized and slipped into E pills every so often.. Was wondering if anyone with deeper knowledge than I might know a reason? Do pill pressers lose their minds and want to kill people? Does PMA get passed as molly so they press pills out of it to recoup the loss? I don't get it.. It takes the same level of chemistry skill to make MDA/MDMA does it not? Why would anyone bother synthesizing this terrible drug?

Anethole (precursor for PM(M)A) is much less strictly controlled, and cheaper, than safrole (precursor for MD(M)A). It's easier to pass off drugs like PMA that are "rough around the edges" rather than selling a bunch of rock salt. It is also moderately easier to synthesize PMA than MDMA (that is, there are more synthesis routes availiable).
PMA and PMMA are fine if you know you're taking it, measure doses right, and treat it with respect. It lacks the safety profile of MDMA in overdoses, that's for sure.
