Opioids Why does my doctor hate me!!!!!!

Four months ago my doctor was willing to prescribe me oxycontin to "wean" myself off. I actually got 14 days clean and slipped up for 4-5 days or so and had to go to my doctor to get another prescription of clonidine and nothing else or so I thought. So than my doctor asks me how im doing and I say I slipped up a little bit and put myself back into withdrawal, than she starts giving me a fuckin lecture for 15 mins that everyone else in the doctors office could hear lol.

Long story short, she asked me if I wanted to try and "wean" myself off again and the addict in me said YES while trying to keep a straight face. So now I got a new prescription of 68 20's (CDN, the old formulation =D) which I know is going to set me back ALOT :\. Sorry I just needed to get it off my chest, Anyone else have a doctor like this? LOL :p

Your doctor doesn't hate you. She trusts you.

If you're serious, don't be an idiot. Throw the pills out or take them back to your doctor and explain that you're an addict and can't be trusted with them.
 
your doctor sounds kind of sketch....seems like that lambasting was to let you know that if you fuck with him again, you're done....other than that, sounds like a pill mill, not exactly interested in getting you off....68 20mg OC's for a TAPER? yea, maybe if you're being given it in titrated, decreasing dose on a nurse's schedule (ala DOC therapy, like in some European countries), but not on your own....

Any other thoughts? I am certainly not very knowledgeable on the subject, haven't been to a doc in a long time, much less for OC (never)
 
If she's willing to let you try again, then it shows she doesn't hate you. She's trying to help you. Either do what she's asking you to do, or tell her you can't and take it like a man and suffer for a few days. You never know. You might actually learn something.
 
I think she's trusting you to do good and for some weird reason doesn't know giving an addict a ton of their DOC all at once is going to usually end up how we all know it will.

But know after this you're gonna be on your own. Maybe take 10 of those and give them to a family memeber/trusted friend to dispense them when you really do have to taper and the doc is gonna tell you to you just have to face it now. Maybe you'll need Suboxone.
