No matter how badly their body changes or deteriorates, they basically never even attempt to see a doctor or hospital.
A famous movie example could be The Fly (1986).
But also movies like Thanatamorphose (2012) or Contracted (2013) where the character(s) basically slowly rot/decay while still alive. Or Bite (2015) which is sort of like those movies combined with The Fly.
But ANY movie like these.
And they aren't ALL American or set in the US, so it isn't just a money issue...and, besides, there HAS to be a point where your body has deteriorated or mutated to an extreme enough extent that you would not care about payment?
I think Cabin Fever (either version) is the only one I can think of off the top of my head that breaks this weird trope. The jeep is broken and they are waaaayyy isolated in the woods, so they end up UNABLE to get help, but immediately when Karen is infected, they spend a lot of time trying to think of a plan to get her to a doctor and throughout the movies, as multiple characters are infected, MOST of them consistantly try to get to a doctor or a hospital.
What's up with this weird trope?
