Now, as a male, of course I find lesbians hot... but today where not here to discuss sex. I wanna discuss what makes my heart expand rather than my junk. For me, lesbian couples are just so sweet. What is it about their romance that makes me feel so warm inside? They're just so cute... And it's not just me. I've heard from people on anime forums who claim to be straight women, but love yuri and find it cuter than straight relationships or yaoi. Now... I know what you're asking? Isn't all love equal? Well, personally, I'd say no... Because you know... perception and subjective morality, you've heard me go on about that before so you know what I'm talking about. I find lesbian relationships to be sweeter and cuter, but I take straight romance more seriously. Part of that is how yuri is portrayed in anime. Honestly, most yuri that tries to be serious fails at it (not counting Revolutionary Girl Utena). And as a result, most of the best yuri are more SOL comedies like Sakura trick and Yuru Yuri... So it's possible that this isn't 100% my feelings but just a reflection of what I see. Now... I've never seen a yaoi, but there's plenty of shows with gay couples in them. I'm sorry.... call me a homophobe or whatever, but there's no way I could feel any heartwarming feelings to a yaoi couple. That's one of the reasons why I'll never watch one. It'd gross me out and all of the good qualities of the relationship will only bug me.... I've never seen Brokeback Mountain, but I can guarantee it wouldn't make me sad at the end, because there's no way I could get invested in the couples. Now... I don't wanna argue about whether that makes me a homophobe. I think if you feel that way, your logic is retarded, no offense. I'm sorry to get off on a tangent, I've just had so many arguments with people who like yuri and yaoi that think everyone else should watch both too. But what I can't understand is why I feel the love between girls is so sweet? I understand why I hate yaoi... it's "eww" for me. But what makes lesbians so much more adorable than straight couples? Shouldn't I only find lesbians to be special for the reason that it turns me on? Objectively, that's the only difference between a straight couple and a lesbian couple, one turns me on... But why would these feelings transcend my simple fetish and affect my aesthetics towards romance.
