Stimulants Why do people like to speed? I don't understand

I never liked it that my much...but a ton of my friends have been on the stuff for awhile. Not pretty site to see how much it has changed them.

I'm like you mydeepestblue. When I was younger alot of my friends loved meth but it just made me feel irritiable, anti-social and obsessive compulsive and I'd be up all night feeling like crap. It definitely wasn't because I was doing too much either.

Interestingly enough I tried 4-fluoroamphetamine recently and actually found it reasonably recreational, whereas methamphetamine is completely useless to me. Overall though, speedy chemicals just don't seem to sit well with me, but fortunately there are plenty of other drugs that do.

Speeding is soooo creepy and has extreme paranoia... It make me feel so unhappy and unable to concentrate on anything... Makes me feel distant from people.... and the heart beating so fast creeps me out... feels like it's gonna explode.

I honestly want to know if any of you like speeding, what do you find so joyful about it? I need some perspective.

Becoming exposed to these chemicals at the same time as benzodiazepines is another bittersweet variable. 8(

Hmm...

Renz Envy: Do you mean that uncomfortable speeding happens when your dopamine levels are too high? As in you take too much? Or is speed always this way

It all depends on the person. You can concentrate on things for hours and get tons of things accomplished. You just cant abuse speed or it will abuse you back.

to each his own... some folks just like uppers and yeah, everyone's body reacts differently. i would agree that those symptoms seem like ya did a bit much but i guess some people like that shit...

different drugs are different for everyone.. personally i like to stick to nightlights just because i love how they make me feel and i don't feel the need to try anything else just incase i could get bad trips or something. i've found something i like and i stick to it and it doesnt make me feel sick! the only downfall of these are not being able to sleep!
oh.. and the herrrrb is never a bad idea!

Because drugs affect everyone differently, that's why. All the symptoms you just described are what happens to me when I smoke weed. Uppers have none of those effects on me, though I don't doubt your experiences for a second.

People who are chronically fatigued, have ADHD or just enjoy the feelings stims give are most likely to enjoy "speeding".

I absolutely despise stimulants....even in tiny amounts. I get really quiet, distant and depressed when tweaking or rolling on MDMA.
It makes me extremely paranoid and feel so very lonely. I usually used to just end up lying in the corner on my own with a duvet kinda waiting for the comedown whilst everyone else was sitting having a great time!

I used to be the only person I knew who actually embraced the comedown and even enjoyed it to an extent!

Despite all this, I still did it frequently.

^ MDMA can take you to a very lonely and depressing place at times. The depressing rolls are the ones that change you and make you a better person in my experience. And although I personally could never imagine being distant and quiet on methamphetamine, one of my friends always responds that way to amps. I wonder why some people are effected in this way while others are effected conversely.

Hey OP and responders.

Other Drugs is for technical harm reduction based in depth questions and continued discussion and not why people like doing a certain drug. BDD has a social thread which is exactly where something like this could go so I'll direct you to it for any further discussion and close this now.
