Why do opiates make you itchy?

I have been wondering for years why I get so incredibly itchy any time I do opiates. Does this happen to everyone or is it just Me? if not just me...why does this fucking happen!!!!

they release histamean which makes most people itchy. Most people take an antihistamine before their opiates to avoid this.

I also enjoy the itch. I like taking my shirt off and just scratching up my entire chest. Not in a hurtful scratching, more like light scratches that feels so good :D

i hate the itch, unless it's the orgasmic body itch. But that nose itch drives me mad, i also get an itchy throat from opiates (well most of them)

Glad im not the only one who gets the nose itch! Thats always the one that gets me when its time to sleep.lmao
Throat itch is a new one to me, glad I dont get that, I can imagine it must be massively irritating!

Histamine release, some (like codeine) more than others.
I absolutely love the opiate itch though, I always feel like I'm not itchy enough :D

I never get it that bad.lol but im a nail biter so that probably help. Best is when your doing the opiates with someone who your really comfortable with and you can be scratch buddys. :-D

i actually compare the itch to how high i am, pretty nice high; nose itch, high as the sky nose and body. I love the itch if i don't itch im not happy. Ill itch to trick myself when its wearing off

I too love the itchiness lol but trying to sleep and having to scratch myself non-stop gets a bit annoying lol. The nose itch is intense
