Why didn't I feel my Vicodin? (no tolerance)

Hey,
I have taken vicodin, oxys, etc about 20 times total over the course of the last year. Each time i did between 5mg (light buzz) to 15mg (full on euphoria), with always successful results. its been a few weeks since i did opiates, and before then i didnt do them all summer.

So last night my friend got me 40mg of hydrocodone in the form of 4 10mg norcos. I took two (20mg) at nine, smoked a joint, and various bowls throughout the night, drank half a beer and just chilled outside mostly.

about 15mins after i took my pills, i felt a slight euphoric buzz verry faintly which went away after a while. I figured i was still coming up, but over the course of the next two hours, I felt no increase in my buzz, and basically just felt very tired. I guess I did feel the vicodin, or parts of it because I was very out of it, tired, relaxed, and generally "fucked up" but throughout the night, i never felt any strong euphoric buzz that I expected based on my previous opiate experience. At most it felt like what I would expect from 7.5mg of hydro.

My question is why the fuck didnt I feel them? This was my highest dose of vicodin i have ever taken, and i had pretty high expectations. I can think of a few reasons why i might not have felt it but they seem pretty unlikely, what do you think?
-maybe I didnt feel it because I was outside in the cold most of the night, and it would be better to be in a warm environment?
-maybe I didnt feel it because I smoked so much weed? although i thought that the two would go really well together...
-maybe i didnt feel it because I somehow have a tolerance to opiates allready? I dont know how this could happen though.

Lastly, I have 20 more mg of hydro in my possesion now, and I really dont know weather to just sell them, or find a way to use them and feel them next time. What do you guys think I should do with my remaining vics?

anyway, thanks for your help.

EDIT:
I forgot, I also took benadryl earlier in the night. Is it possible that this affected my high at all? Also, I was pinching myself throughout the night to see if the analgesic effects of the vicodin were kicking in, and i could always feel the pinch. Not sure if thats normal or not..

really? because i have read/heard many people who say vics +weed is awesome...

I was in a pretty bad mood the whole night also, partly because I wasnt feeling the vics, partly for other reasons... maybe I had a "bad" trip on weed (although this has never happened to me before, and i dont really know what it would feel like) and that ruined the vic high?

If you don't regularly smoke pot than the effects of paranoia can maybe ruin your groove

I smoke 1-3 times daily, and never really run into paranoia problems. I find it hard to believe that weed could ruin It because I always thought of vics as purely physical while weed is psychological. How could the weed high prevent the body buzz from vicoden?

and thanks/sorry for the move, mod

Marijuana is the most likely suspect. If you smoked more weed than you ever did with the other doses than it could have altered the high that you experienced. Smoking too much pot and that can take over. Marijuana with hydrocodone is a good combo but all you need is a bowl. The high is different though, for most people the better.

Its been four years since ive been able to get high on vics.. but even now when i smoke a lil weed after doin an 80 oxy it still fucks with my high. sorry if i couldnt help but imo the weed is what i would beleave caused this shitty high for you

I have to agree, pot never has been good with opies, at least for me. Also, in the past, for some unknown reason I would just not respond to a dose. For example, I was taking 5-10mg of Oxy. and feeling a good, strong buzz. I would try the very same dose, or a little more, in 2-3 days later, and not feel a damn thing. And at that time, tolerance wasn't the problem. It just happened.

Best
