Why choline source when taking piracetam?

I saw videos on youtube where it was said that it's important to use a cholin source together with piracetam. Unfortunately there was no explanation. The only thing I found was that is could be possible to get a headache when no choline is taking along with the piracetam.

In Germany it is possible to get piracetam as prescription drug. So I downloaded the package information leaflet. Nothing was written about combination with a choline source.
But maybe it is not needed if pirecetam is not used excessively? My thoughts are that piracatam can perhaps deplete the brain's choline ressources and so people take choline to prevent this. But I don't know if it's true or if it really can result in headaches or something else.

Has anybody more information on that?
What happens if piracetam is taken daily in greater amounts without choline?
Is choline also needed for other racetam drugs like aniracetam? Or do they act in an other way and choline is not needed?

Any Information? Studies? Experiences?

Thank you.

From what I can remember (and you might wanna make a thread in ADD if you want more info on this) piracetam acts on cholinergic receptors, so I presume that using piracetam regularly could decrease your ach levels. A lot of the studies show that using choline also increases the neurotropic effects, as well as getting rid of some of the side effects, so not really any reason not to use it.

Choline is a precursor to acetylcholine, a major neurotransmitter. From what I've read, the idea is that nootropics may cause your levels of acetylcholine to deplete which leads to some problems so the choline is a fix for that. Keep in mind that research into nootropics is somewhat sparse so this may or may not be scientifically accurate. I personally haven't used nootropics, I have been interested though.
