why cant you use buprenex for methadone detox?

on my methadone info guide it list 5 drugs i cant do cause it will send me into an instant detox. temegesic, nubain, stadol, buprenex, and tramadol. why can one use buprenex for heroin detox but not a methadone detox?

It's a bit more complex than that... Bupe is a mixed opiate agonist/antagonist. If you're humming right along on H or meth detox and take bupe, you will go STRAIGHT to withdrawl hell without passing go. That's why if you go a bupe detox route, you need to be well within withdrawl before starting the bupe... Now, I have seen some programs (maybe only personal not sure) that use MMT till at a low dose (5ml) then switch to bupe for the final detox (as most familiar with MMT know, that last 5 ml taper can be the worst). The whole point is that you don't want to go straight from a maintenance dose of MMT or H to bupe without going into some withdrawl first.

in australia doctors will allow transfer from methadone to bupe @ 30ml[methadone] or less to bupe, again just allow mild withdrawal to occur
my guess 24hrs. l have no personal experience or know of any one who has done this.
 
dr. thanx alot buddy.im on 65mgs of methadone now. i have been on and off for about a year and a half now. i have been on the clinic since february this time. i am staying on for awhile till im ready to detox. my clinic detoxes at 1-3mgs a week. its a slow pocess but i have been told from alot of people here thats how it goes. i dont get high on my dose but do sleep well and feel normal all day. i do wake up some mornings feeling shitty if i have been working in the sun the day before. sweaing alot. i may switch to the diskettes. well thanx for the help.
