Heroin Why can't you use a meth pipe to smoke heroin?

Both heroin and meth turn to liquid, than give of vapours when heated indirectly (no naked flame).

Both can be chased of foil effectively.

Why is it that everyone smokes heroin of foil and meth in a meth pipe?

As long as you don't overheat the heroin, i.e remove the lighter when it starts giving of vapours and just sporadically heat it when it stops, shouldn't smoking heroin in a meth pipe be possible?

A pipe capable of controlling meth and heroin would be to powerful for any human to wield. It would be the end of us all.

You can smoke heroin out of a glass pipe. I think chasing it on foil is just more efficient (although I've never tried a pipe myself). Just because something is possible, doesn't mean that you should do it necessarily.

It would be safer to smoke heroin out of a glass pipe, I just wouldn't recommend doing it out of the same pipe that you smoke meth out of without cleaning the pipe thoroughly with acetone or alcohol and allowing it to dry.

theres no harm in trying it with a clean pipe, what kind of heroin are you referring to? #4 east coast powder? #3 base? tar? this will make a difference, I personally would put a heat source anywhere near #4.

Hahaha, I actually tried this before. It's just way easier to smoke off of foil, after a while the residue of burnt h makes the dope smoke poorly - it's impossible to get a real big hit. Plus you can't get that last crush hit!

This was all with BTH, don't know why one would wanna smoke good powder when they can easily snort it.

Yep. Heroin hydrochloride (North American powder heroin, aka "#4") isn't very suitable for smoking because it burns more easily than base (UK) heroin, so it's difficult to properly vaporize it without wasting a lot of it / burning it. It can be smoked given patience and the right technique, and adding caffeine to it helps a lot according to the above study. I would suggest snorting hydrochloride over smoking it (that would also be a far better/safer option than injecting it).

I'm currently in europe and scored some brown No3. It runs very well on foil with almost no residue. I smoke meth in a pipe quite a lot back in australia and was wondering if i could use a pipe to smoke heroin. Everyone I know says foil is best for heroin but i just want to know why.

Because glass retains heat way longer than aluminum, to an undesirable point.

This isn't really HR. I know glass would be safer to use than aluminum, but I don't think it really works well in practice, unless you've got an unlimited supply of heroin to burn through with glass.
