this is the weirdest thing. when i shoot hydromorph i come down with a fever a few hours later which lasts anywhere from 6-12 hours, really high fever. what makes it even stranger is this didnt used to happen, it started happening about a year ago. stranger still, it doesnt necessarily happen every time, if i havent done any hydromorphone in a while sometimes i can get way with shooting some and get no fever but if i keep using for a day or two, i always always get a fever. if i snort it, i get no fever so it is not a reaction to the hydromorphone itself but something in the shot. i tried triple filtering but that did not help. i just find it so odd. anyone else experience this?

Id assume thate at some point you were a daily user of opiates.
Physical dependency comes much quicker after you have previously been dependant.
Hydromorphone being the crack of opiates, it wouldnt surprise me that withdrawals would set in that quick.
ive been on and off heroin for 4 years. I use very infrequently and only for a day or two at a time now adays, however even just doing half a gram one day will bringnon a full 5 day withdrawal fest.

Did you filter with a micron/wheel filter and use proper sterilization techniques? If not than no matter how safe you're trying to be any number of things could be contaminating the shot and causing the reaction you're describing.
no did not use a micron filter, i just want to know if anyone else has had this reaction. its not cotton fever or anything like that because i only get it with hydromorphone and it's NOT withdrawal. I can shoot the hydromorphone, come down the fever 5 hours later and then shoot more hydromorphone and the fever will only worsen, that ain't withdrawal, and i've never run a fever with opiate withdrawal anyway.

Of course I "should" use a micron filter, I should do a lot of things, including not IV opiates. My addiction says otherwise unfortunately. I've shot all kinds of unbelievable crap into my veins over the years without micron filtering and by the grace of God, gotten away with it with zero issues, aside from these fevers.
And yes, shooting more hydromorphone only makes the fevers worse. The only other pills I have shot besides hydromorphone are suboxone and never had any problems with them.

I sometimes would get similar symptoms when shooting dope.. Idk if it was related to a certain batch of dope or what..
Aspirin helps.. but, as to why you get those headaches/fevers? Idk, my guess would be too much dopamine stimulation for your receptors. Who knows..

Even if it seems to not make sense if you're IVing ANYthing is possible, I understand you don't use a micron and I don't mean to speak down to you, everyone (including me) disregards some aspects of their health when in the throws of addiction, but I would just like to point out that those filters could help prevent things like this.
