Why can't I roll hard?

I've used MDMA several times. I always have to take a lot more than my friends do, and I still do not get effects as strong as they do. The pills I've taken have always been good pills, also.

I was on SSRIs for a few months (Citalopram 10mg, then 20mg) but have been off of them for months, and have been completely withdrawal free for about 2.5 months. I am also taking 50-60mg Vyvanse daily, and have been for a long period of time. The last time I tried rolling, I had taken 50mg Vyvanse the day before, and 30mg Vyvanse that morning. I took 3 White DC Pokeballs (my friends took these as well and had fantastic results) over a period of ~6 hours, but only had euphoria and empathy to a degree equivalent to a ~15mg dose of 2C-I. Also, I had taken 23mg of 2C-I around 6 hours before I took my first Pokeball.

I had always thought that it was the remnants of the SSRIs that made it nearly impossible for me to roll hard, but after so long I'm beginning to doubt that. I also think it may be my high amphetamine tolerance, but I didn't know that would affect the effects of MDMA THAT much. I have never been able to get the intense enhanced tactile sensation that many people get, and been able to appreciate lightshows as much as many people do while rolling, nor the intense euphoria and empathy that other people can get. After taking 2 pokeballs at once, I didn't get that intense of effects, while multiple friends of mine were almost overwhelmed, only taking 1 of the same exact pill.

I would really appreciate it if someone could shed some light on my situation and give me some insight and/or advice. =D

Its the Vyvanse...

Its an Amphetamine and has a cross tolerance with MDMA...you have been building up your tolerance to MDMA ever since you started taking it without even know it :(

Although methylphenidate is an amphetamine derivative subtle differences exist in its pharmacology; amphetamine works as a dopamine transport substrate where as methylphenidate works as a dopamine transport blocker

Probably no cross-tolerance if there's diffferent mechanism of action. Methylphenidate is more closely related to the cocaine molecule anyway. I wouldn't worry too much.

Someone else was saying in another thread that they don't roll as hard on the days they take methylphenidate as they do when they don't. I never really had a problem when I used to use methylphenidate recreationally, I always rolled normally anyway but I didn't take it on a daily basis, so that may make a difference.

I have however heard some ppl comment that they were never able to roll hard again after being on an SSRI for an extended period of time. I doubt that is common though, it's more likely the methylphenidate. I was on an SSRI for anxiety, citalopram, and it took me at least a few weeks before I could roll at all, and proly a couple months before I could roll hard again.

If you have bad adhd and really need your methylphenidate, I wouldn't stop taking it, but if not maybe try not taking it for a month and try rolling again.

Good luck!

Oooohhhh you said vyvanse, not concerta. Whoops. Yes, there is proly more likely a definite cross tolerance between vyvanse and mdma, more likely than with methylphenidate. I've never, ever had any issue with a cross tolerance between methylphenidate and mdma... and at the time I was abusing A LOT of methylphenidate and doing mdma often.

Yea, there is a cross tolerance to MDMA with Vyvanse.. sorry buddy. Either quit rollin or quit the Vyvanse. And I would advise you to stay on the Vyvanse...

Would Adderall cause the same kind of tolerance?

I have taken Adderall since I was 5, and didn't stop until I was 20. I was in the test groups for the Adderall XR when I was 12, and stayed prescribed the 30mg XR's, and took 1-2 daily, until I stopped taking them completely, and that was about 2 years ago. I prefaced this info, because I tried rolling for the 1st time tonight with my friend who is an experienced roller. I took one roll orally, then waited about an hour and forty five minutes, and didn't feel anything, so my friend and I decided to crush one up and each of us snort half. I felt the burn, tasted what I believed to be the MDMA. I then waited another hour and still haven't felt anything. My friend who was rolling with me thinks they weren't very good rolls, but he still felt them.

Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks

In addition, I kind of feel like I'm on Adderall again. I'm spacing out, I have thoughts I want to convey but can't, I'm fidgeting, and it feels like I just took too much.

im pretty sure adderall does still have a small cross tolerance with mdma, but it sounds like you got some crappy rolls that very well may just be adderall or meth or something. my guess is you will probably have to take a bit more than someone who never used adderall or rolls before but you still should be able to roll just fine. adderall and such acts on dopamine while e acts mostly on serotonin so...
