id assuming smoking cigarettes? I felt this like "cyst" type thing in my lung the last few days. I quit cigs for 4months after smoking a two packs of reds or lucky strikes a day for 14-19 but then got arrested & started cigging full fledge again for the last month but with bugular tobacco rolled in a machine wit a filter. Either way i've smoked a lot of other things when i was younger & coughed up every color of the rain bow including(copper and bakingsoda). :P The blood is exhibited in the mucus from the lungs & not the kind u can pull from your nasal cavity to your throat. This morning its been coming up bloody is coming from the throat and one lob in particular was a little too red for comfort.

I guess i should quit smoking cigs again but holy fuck have i been stressed & everyone i know agreed in the same situation theyd be much more stressed.

Any input as to what it could be from would be greatly appreciated. Especially the quicker responses. Thanks Blue light!

Ouch Frosty, definitely might want to lay the smokes down for a minute. Coughing up blood is never a good thing, and you might want to hit up the doctor.

Coughing up blood = bad, bad joo-joo.

^^^^

This, seriously.

Dr. Internet is of no use to you today. Go see a real doctor. And stop smoking, for now. *Shrug* Common sense, dearest. <3

yeah frosty, id definitely go see a doc.

this isnt something to be taken too lightly

wow that is not good at all... could be cancer.. yes like everyone else has said see a doctor. like now!

update us, i hope you get better

don't want to freak you out, but when my aunt was diagnosed with lung cancer, coughing up blood was the first symptoms

sorry, could be other things, u gotta go see a doctor asap

wtf? man.. you could have like bronchitis or maybe you breathed in something harsh and the smoke just irritated it.. I highly doubt it's fucking cancer guys.

I'm just stating facts from real life. No one is saying its cancer, but that coughed up blood is a symptoms of cancer among many other diseases. He has to see a doctor ASAP. Like he should already be in the doctor's office right now. No one can diagnose him over the net.

Even if its bronchitis, blood is something serious, he should go see a doc right away to avoid complications.

The truth is that since the OP is young, even with a history if smoking cancer is a very small possibility. My aunt if like 80. So its probably something else but he needs to get it checked out.

We are trying to make him realize the seriousness of the situation.

Something I found on the net:

"Hemoptysis (which is pronounced he-MOP-tis-is) is coughing up blood from the respiratory tract. Blood can come from the nose, mouth, throat, the airway passages leading to the lungs, or the lungs. The word "hemoptysis" comes from the Greek "haima," meaning "blood," and "ptysis," which means "a spitting".

Blood-tinged mucus in a healthy nonsmoker usually indicates a mild infection. Indeed, the most common cause for coughing up blood is the least serious—a ruptured small blood vessel caused by coughing and/or a bronchial infection.

In patients with a history of smoking and those who are otherwise at risk for lung disease, however, hemoptysis is often a sign of serious illness. Serious conditions that can cause hemoptysis include bronchiectasis (chronic dilation and infection of the bronchioles and bronchi), pulmonary embolus (a clogged artery in the lungs that can lead to tissue death), pneumonia (a lung infection), and tuberculosis.

Hemoptysis can also result from inhaling a foreign body (e.g., particle of food) that ruptures a blood vessel. Whatever the suspected cause, hemoptysis should always be reported to a physician. "

man by no means am I saying he shouldn't be in a doctor's office, it's not good. But I think he should also know that it could be a non-life-threatening problem.

19years of age/male

bleeehhh, fuck.

thanks for the concern and input BLer's.
I pretty much avoid Doctors and hospitals at all costs so i do appreciate the detail goodstuff. I ended up smoking a lot of cigs that day but today im going to quit(hopefully) again and see if it stops.

wow coughing up blood!!! and still smoking whats wrong with you ? reds, lucky strikes sorry to say cancer sounds like its the future ahead of you later in life you need to quite or cut back alot, no actually quite. you will be in for a rude awakening don't be another satistic because thats what it's sounding like good luck

I just can't understand how someone can continue to smoke when their lungs are so utterly ravaged that they are literally disintegrating at age 19. How do you not feel revulsion at what you're doing to yourself? I'm not a health nut, not even close. But I feel physically sick when I read this thread. How are you more disconnected from your health then a stranger reading about it over the internet is?

You haven't even begun to live your life yet and your body is already falling apart. You only have one set of lungs to last you the rest of your life. If you keep on treating yourself like this you're going to be incapacitated by the time you're 30. I've seen what this shit does to people, but if you're content to spend the last years of your short life struggling to walk across the room or to catch your breath after every sentence so be it. If you refuse to see a doctor over something as serious as coughing up blood then it's apparent that you don't place a whole lot of value on your life.

could be anything but yea first step is to quit all smoke cold fuckin turkey. believe me, there is no feeling as terrifying as not being able to breathe. nothing. your lungs tie with your heart for the rank of most important organ, so don't fuck it!

i have a friend who used to recklessly fuck with his lungs too and he coughed up blood. went to the doc and learned it was just a bronchial thing so don't freak out just yet, but all the same get a chest x-ray done so your doctor can properly diagnose you. hope all is will <3

d00d....just go to the doctors man. nobody likes to, but seriously...your coughing up blood...

I'll try to come up with the most logical idea I can for this, not involving cancer or anything like that.

I remember my first few times of blazing I would get MAD cotton mouth, and everything would just dry out. I didn't drink too much water, and got bloody noses almost every come down. Now maybe, just maybe you were having a bloody nose, and a bit of blood dripped down into your throat and you coughed that up? I mean, quantity is key.

But yeah, I say see a doctor as do the others haha.

Keep us updated about your situation. I'm also a smoker and hate every minute of it. But continue to smoke unsure why. I was able to quit dope but cigs are probably going to be the things that will kill me. I smoked a few cigs a day for a while and recently went to a pack a day. All I think about is smoking. Anyone here has any suggestions on how to quit? The OP needs it and so do I.

Do you have symptoms other than the blood? Is it still happening, or was it one time thing?

Shit mate, really go to a doctor. It could be loads of things, even if it does settle down for now there are probably underlying problems in your lungs that need sorting?

frosty, i avoid doctors/hospitals like the plague, but seriously bro, get yourself checked out.

i beg.

update: today cut down to a few smokes & quitting(tomorrow hopefully). Ran 1/4th a mile on a treadmill but later left lung "cyst" area began stabbing pain.. Seriously thats like "Ew" & a "wtf?" so i may try 2 make a doctors appointment but they take mad long 2 do anything.

"like the plauge" 100% agreed.

This does not seem like it will constitute"fun times".

So basically if someone tried giving you 7 mandatory minimum sentence years in ah prison for marijuana you may find it hard 2 not be cigging down every other minute as well. Time to find new coping mechanisms..
