I'm a fully functional, semi closet opiate enjoyer. I'll pop 3-4 10 mg hydrocodones or a couple oxycodones a few times a week and enjoy a few movies or game it up on xbox w pin prick eyes and a non stop smile. I hear people call my drug of choice hydrocodone and hydrocodeine, or codones/codeines, lortabs, etc. I'm really just wondering what terms are correctly applied to which drugs and what the differences are. I appreciate the insight fellow bluelighters:)

Hydrocodone and Oxycodone are two completely different substances. Hydrocodone w/ Acetaminophen = Vicodin and Oxycodone w/ Acetaminophen = Percocet. Oxycodone is the stronger one. I've seen various estimates, but subjectively it seems that most people would say that 5mg of Oxycodone is the equivalent of 7.5mg of Hydrocodone.

Check out the opiate megathread. It's good stuff. OR do a search and view posts (or threads...whichever is preferred), select, and read it for your answer/s.

-looks like you've already got a couple of good answers in here, too. Wikipedia TOO has some great info. Much quicker than posting this question and waiting for (correct) answers.
