Who's never met a bluelighter?

I haven't. I'm from Perth too... it's quite nifty to see all these Perth BLers posting... :)

I didn't want to meet anyone... However I woke up one day and there was a BL Meetup in my house. 1 Week later another one in my house... so I thought I'd join... ALl we need to do is organise a MASS BL Meetup. Advise the Police of the Location, date and time... It'll be fun :D... Drugs, Alchohol, and cops :D hehe...

Seriously, get out people... Pm people within 20km's of you and hookup... :D

Go to Perth meet ups. Dont be shy. I have totally made an absolute arse of myself on a few occassions now in front of em and they still acknowledge my existence so come along! Best way is to go to the events, or pm people. Best thing I ever did- meeting Rubber Duck especially lol

I live to out of the way and can't be arsed going to events and such(gigs etc) .. clubs do my head in big time =D

Following suit with the east crew could be a decent idea .. food is a great way to bond and Linus's movie idea is absolutely tip top.

Although from what I've read the perth crew are a little too hardcore for that :p

I first met Bluelighters last year at Science Fiction (Perth). Didn't stick around though.

It's only recently that I've really started talking to a bunch of them-- and you know what? They're great people =D

haven't met anyone of this establishment, then again I haven't been around for long :p

I haven't met any Bluelighters. I saw iamtha1 at god's kitchen after she posted making a comment to Molly Meldrum about having a kookaburra living in his hat. but besides that I haven't. I would like to though (Chik, iamtha1 :) )

I met nezo and insomnia... I've never been the same since. Seriously, I have the urge to have sex with corpses now. How fucking weird is that? Bluelighters are bad.

I didn't meet anyone for over a year after I joined. That's why I never really got into Aus Social at first... it seemed everyone had a little clique and I couldn't work out how to squeeze my way into one. But I had the mother of all initiations when we decided - on the spur of the moment and at Psychokitten's urging - to go to a certain beach party a couple of years ago. It was quite a brave endeavour, an almost 2-hour trip in the car, and it felt weird as fuck to be going to meet people who I'd only ever chatted to online, and who my boyfriend didn't know at *all*.

And it WAS awkward at first. Psychokitten was strange and aloof, and nobody else really clicked with us... except Mean Girl and nickthecheese... but then we all started to loosen up and it opened up a whole new world. We met two pretty amazing bluelighters there that night who we continued a friendship with back in Melbourn. And after our meetup cherry had been popped, it wasn't so scary anymore to go to these things.

Actually I lie: it's always kind of scary. It's a weird thing, I won't lie to you. It's not as comfortable as going to meet your friends up at the local pub. BUT I've never been disappointed. These are real people and even if you don't have the most *amazing* night of your life you can be certain of one thing - that you'll come away having had new experiences and widened your social circle just that little bit, and occasionally.. just occasionally... you meet someone REALLY special.

Be brave - bluelighters, if nothing else, are always pretty welcoming. And at least you have something in common to talk about initially!

in perth it was always very easy and welcoming.
but in melbourne, i'm glad as fuck i met people initially by accident.

in fact, if my experiences are anything to go by, everyone who says they've never met someone from here before, you could well have met dozens and just not known about it.

note: this is obviously more likely if you have ever been to melbourne.

They might seem like the "cool" group but when you realise they are also people sitting behind a computer screen on a friday night with a bag of goon typing "ROFL, LOL and 1337" you realise that they arent all syringe stabbin, driveby shootin Gangstas you first thought a drug "harm minimisation website" would be all about. Instead they take pictures of their drugs and put them on the internet (because there is obviously a point to that = show and tell is dead children), posing with guns, or flexing in front of their webcams, giving random shout outs and talkin inane crap they reguritated from some Jo coffee arts lecturer at the university of back of buttfuck or writing a sonnet to express the pain of dealing with "norms" (wow bluelighters sound like goths). Why would you want to meet them...

They sit up the back of clubs and make fun of Joey PLUR Penny who talks about track names and then talk about how great sublime was when it was back at Pitt street and that the world has changed and music has gone crap... the kind of people who come alive when Darude Sandstorm is played but will never show it because they came out tonight to wail in their own sluggish artform that is their existence. They are only awakened when someone says, "yeah fuck the greens, people who earn money should not get taxed at a higher level so university students can spend longer claiming the dole smoking bongs and talking about poetry by the Xmen V Street fighter arcade machine in the "Breakout Room" in between planning ways to fuck up the establishment that supports their lifestyle, like stopping city traffic with their bleeding heart causes which are a mask for spray painting anarchist symbols on buildings, smoking bongs, listening to some other Jo Coffee (bong smoking) socialist public speaker kid (who by the way is only doing it to get back at his father for putting him through law school to get back at him) and then so they can march past mounted cops and ask them what the colour of a 2c piece is..... Do you still wanna meet them.

my reason for staying away is they say

"build a bridge and get over it"

To me thats heaps gay,

(bluelighters are also notorious for saying End Rant and -OUT-)

end rant
Backo -out-
;)
