Who wants to be in a documentary about meth?

Hi all-

Besides loving bluelight for the plethora of information it provides, I've also grown attached to the community. I honestly believe that we're some of the smartest, most progressive thinking people on earth, and if we work together, we can change the worldwide evil that is drug prohibition in our lifetime.

Besides being an amateur psychonaut/scientist, I'm also a documentary filmmaker working on a project about methamphetamine. The point of the project is to show that even in the case of a drug like meth, there are better solutions than prohibition. I'm currently looking for individuals who would be interested in sharing their personal experiences with meth and/or professionals (ie, doctors, lawyers, etc) who have dealt with meth specifically in the course of their duties. Any contribution would be extremely helpful, from a simple phone conversation to an on-camera interview, and your anonymity can be fully preserved if you like.

good luck and all, but just to let you know, documentaries about meth come a dime a dozen. So seriously, if you want yours to be something special, I hope you plan on taking a really different and unique approach. Shit, I feel like every week on tv I see a new show about "Meth: an American Epidemic" or some shit. Not to mention on netflix there's like 10 different Meth documentaries. Just seems like a topic that's very widely covered as it is.

The fact that there is so much shite out there is why I want to do this. The one I saw on netflix was called "american meth," narrated by val kilmer. It was some sob story that basically told me nothing I didn't already know - it lacked facts in favor of tears.

The point of this doc is a bit different: rather than going for angst, I'm attempting to put meth (and thereby all drugs) in an objective, scientific lights that shows just how absurd prohibition is. It's supposed to be funny and somewhat lighthearted, and in many ways a parody of an 80's anti-drug after school special.

Also, because you mention netflix drug docs: I also thought Rolling was a pile of ass - a trashy soap opera dressed up in kandi, not a factual or interesting film like I want this to be.

I have nothing to add besides I'd come from a different point of view than hillbilly's making meth in their basement and blowing their neighborhood up while getting everyone addicted at the same time. I'd add how many functioning people, professionals who make more money and have better lifes and jobs than most, use meth but think because it's desoxyn that it's not meth and therefore there's no stigma which is bullshit.
