That's where it all falls down. Excruciating song.
ah there's no accounting for taste.
Felt - The Optimist & The Poet
Guitars aren't just for blues-based rock. It's a European instrument. People forget.
Same. sorta, i listened to stuff like the prodigy and classic trance etc for years whilst i carried on playing but lost interest, then i got properly into hip hop, guitar music is sorta dead now
...Fuck I hope all those years of reading Zep biography after Zep biography are paying off in making this post at least somewhat convincing :D
You dont have to drop things once they become popular, just incase thats not "cool" any more.
You found any decent zep biogs lately pagey? I think the Mick Wall one and the book of interviews with Jimmy were the last 2 I read. I think the most insightful one is the Richard Cole biog - they don't come out of as very charming guys (especially Bonzo!) but I think that's probably the best idea of what they were like.
I haven't read the Richard Cole biography as I've heard a lot of it is complete bullshit (think he had a massive fallout with the band towards the end of their career with Zep) but who knows with these things. Is it any good? I've also got a Peter Grant biography somewhere called 'The man who led zeppelin' which I'm probably gonna try out soon, I'll let you know if it's any good if you'd like. You found any decent zep biogs lately pagey? ive not read any led zep biographies, but it seems that some biographies set out with an agenda to attack and destroy the legends, for example Albert Goldman's book The Lives of Jonh Lennon; it skipped the positive things his like his sheer genius and talent and just concentrated on all his flaws.

The Cole one sounds pretty accurate - you get more of an insight into the heroin/groupies and everyday life than most biogs. I think you'd enjoy it, gives you more of the inside story. Apparantly even Plant was on the heroin but it took over Jimmy from about 77 on. Cole, Grant and Bonzo were all on it too. There's a good story in the Albert Goldman Lennon biog where Bonzo and Lennon are both kneeling over the toilet snorting heroin and looking at each other vomiting and laughing.
