Not just to relax or relieve some pain--I mean cancer, arthritis, MS, things like that.

Who here uses cannabinoids on a consistent basis to treat their own debilitating condition?

What exactly do you use?
How much and how often?
What benefits have you noticed?
Side effects?

I used cannabis to treat the symptoms of my sinus infection.

I ate ~1g/day extracted. Kept me happy, hungry and tired! All conducive to recovery!

I don't know how it affected my recovery from the cold tho...

Im sure many people think they are using it as a medicine. Very few actually are. Ie 'treating for depression'. In my experience.. the only thing thats made me or friends depressed is use of drugs, including marijuana. Delusion is great though. If you are depressed, first things first, stop using drugs, then see how you feel. Not after a day or a week but several months.

The only time weed has been a 'medicine' for me was when i injured my back a few months ago, and the only time i wasnt in pain was while high. Normally pain relief is not possible with marijuana for me, but with my sore back it worked a treat and after a few weeks/a month, no more pain!

moonyham, please do some research on the potent anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and other beneficial properties of cannabis. What you just said is insensitive. It can be much more than pain relief.

Maybe if a certain federal government would reschedule cannabis from schedule I with "no accepted medical use" some serious research could get underway...

But I smell a supreme court battle a comin'.

cannabis is no more than palliative medicine, so are opiods though but it certainly ain't no miracle drug.

First and foremost, cannabis is a drug that alters the state of mind. No matter if you're using it for medicinal purposes or not, it is firstly a mind-altering drug. As such, it can be easy to use all the time. So whoever is using cannabis for medicinal purposes, just keep in mind it's easy to look back in a couple months and say "holy crap, I remember when I used to take this once a week".

I agree it has anti-inflammatory properties.. but when my back was sore, a simple dose of ibuprofen did the same job, i however prefer getting high and dont like pharmacuticals for paranoid delusional reasons.

As for anti-cancer.. well, thats not a 'fact' thats a piece of information that has no real scientific basis and i dont particularly believe.. considering i know several people who have smoked cannabis their whole lives and got cancer at some point. :/ including family members.

As for other benefits.. well, im not saying it doesnt have certain attributes that are good, but its as noted by simply live, first and foremost a drug that gets you high... like heroin.

"First and foremost" is a statement of perspective, not of fact. It's a versatile drug:

The list goes on and on.

Do I seriously have to do the googling for you?

EDIT: It's also not hard these days to take cannabis medicinally while bypassing the cerebral effects. With high CBD/low THC strains, or topically, or cannabidiol-rich extracts, for example.

I've been a member of this site for 6 years, do you really think i dont know about marijuana and havnt looked at studies? I'm more aware than you probably are, which has led me to my current 'belief' about it and its 'potential' as a medicine. Thanks for assuming i know nothing though, hah.

It didn't sound like you looked at the studies, as you say "As for anti-cancer.. well, thats not a 'fact' thats a piece of information that has no real scientific basis"

Real scientific basis provided.

ur very closed minded for a druggy
your right, smoking weed isnt going to cure cancer for people but that doesnt mean that weed cannot help people with cancer in other ways than smoking..
drinking cannabis juice gives more cbd and isnt psychoactive (aka not like heroin)

Cancer does not work that way. Both THC and CBD exhibit demonstratable antiproliferative effects on certain types of cancers. That does not mean that it is magic.

I don't have to assume that -- you've demonstrated it for me.
